Is it Possible to erase a CD-RW without losing any MB's??? beacuse, I've noticed that when you erase a CD-RW it erases some MB's :helpsmile:

Erasing a CD-RW shouldn't make it lose mb! all it does is erase the files off the cd
Not sure what you are saying really, but erasing a cd-rw does not make it smaller ;)

i think he means that after a format of a cd-rw it its capacity is a bit lower. i have noticed this too.
i tyhink that it is becase cd-rw's develope bad sectors really easily and during a format it finds these bad sectors and marks them as bad so that when you write data nothing gets stored on these parts of the disc and in reality you are loosing a few mb's because of this.

if that is the case, I would be happy that my cd-rw is a few mb smaller! rather then trying to burn onto faulty sectors causing a bad write.

there is nothing yo can do about it. it just happens, which is why i dont use cd-rw's to much corruption. just buy some cheap cd-r's to and multisession them then throw it out when you dont need the data anymore.

its where you can keep adding stuff to a cd-r. in nero you have the option before burning to finalize disc, uncheck it and you can keep adding to the cd.

It's really something you can't prevent. Stay away from "unbranded" media, i.e. cheap crap and stick to something decent like Sony.

yeah it does happen, nero has a scandisc in it somewhere, if u have any cd-rws run the scandisc and youll see that they do get bad sectors, especially memorex brand. my memorex right out of the package was 50% bad sectors so i returned it right away and i never bought any cd-rws afer that.

no but thats the thing, if u just buy those really cheap brand cd-rs that are like $25 for 100 they are so cheap that u can throw them out and it wont really matter.
and you buy more expensive ones for important ones.

I've never bought a spindle of 100 before, my friend bought one, and about 1 in every 7 or 8 cd's was a dud, it was horrible
I always buy a Memorex 50pk spindle, every time! never had a dud once! B)
