its a case (mid tower is the size of caser, its a middle size one) and a motherboard.

its just a deal, buy a case and motherboard together and its cheaper than sperate (usually) or its for people who are stupid and dont know which parts can go together.
when you buy a barebones system you have to buy all of the other parts obviously.
