It seems like there is a shortage of sapphire 9600xt's where i live, so what should i get? should i get a geforce card? I don't wanna wait like a month for a graphic card what about the msi geforce fx5900xt vtd-128 128mb? is it worth 40 dollars more?

well it has much better performance according to the graphics card guide by bigdawgfoxx. check it out and decide if u think it would be worth 40 bucks more.

XT is the scaled down version with the Nvidias I believe, let me run and check.....

Here is just one chart from the Tomshardware Vid card roundup. the aqua mark one.

So although it does get outperformed by the regular 5900, it outperforms the 9600XT

oh yeah shit i didnt realize it said xt, i just saw 5900 then checked the guide.

yes XT is the low end of the nvidia cards, not sure if its still better than treh 9600xt now...

edit: i just looked at that site, and it looks to me to be a lot better...6 thousand points.

Well 5900 is kind of equal too 9800 aint it?

Posted by: Keikan

i guess 5900xt = 9800se but the 9800se sucks but the 5900xt hmmm

Whats PS2 support?

Posted by: bigdawgfoxx

I believe the 5900XT kept all 8pipelines, as the 9800SE only kept 4, therefor the 5900XT is a pretty nice graphics card. For $190 you can get a 9700Pro or for $210 you can get a 9800Pro, which will both beat the 5900XT.

Posted by: Keikan

there is no 9700pro in canada
the 9800pro too damned pricey

Why dont you update the rest of your system before getting a good graphics card?

Posted by: Keikan

I'm getting a new computer, where have you been? ;)
