There's nothing wrong with those temps... :)

Is that with the stock cooler?
Did you apply arctic silver or just the stock thermal pad?
Posted by: adamp2p
Sound like fun, you finally got it, eh? Been thinking about it for quite a bit now, eh?

pad
oh boy the temperature is 53 degrees :x
Posted by: RGX
Listen, if you dont plan to overclock, that temp should be ok.....I assume you are running or have been running some processor intensive apps to get 53?? if so, you should be fine...if thats idle temps, they are a bit high. Check that your heatsink is clipped on properly and sits perfectly flat on the processor, not slightly raised or out of alignment.

If your using the thermalpad, it's takes a couple days to settle up. Then your temps should be lower.

actually they both do that, but i dont think arctic silver has as much of a drop.
@keiken, your bios might have a setting to make teh fan run at different speeds, it might be on its lowest setting. you should check that out.

Keikan how many fans have you got...
Also do you have an exhaust fan installed?
I've a near identical rig to yours. My case is 25 c but my CPU is 41 c (idle) and thats overclocked at 2.04Ghz.

Ya but did you use the stock heatsink with pad?
Ya maybe i gotta do some bios hunting, doesn't anyone got this board and know something about the temperatures!!!???
ps how do you get rid of that splash screen when you start up of the asus board?
hmm 47 idle
o ya i got 2 fans at the back and they're blowing in, i think....

a lot of people have that board. my friend has it so i personnally looked through teh bios and found fan ratio thing that is in teh section with overclocking. look there, its labelled pretty simple.

I also used the stock heatsink and pad yes. But I might apply some as5 to get my temps down to high 30's but at the moment the pc's stable as anything.
My temps started of at 49c Idle but once the pc wore in (Took about 72hrs) and the addition of a exhaust I got the temps down to the low 40's.

make teh ratio closer to 1:1 i think. if that makes it slower just change it to the furthest number from 1 u can choose.
edit: try using speedfan, its a good program, too bad it wont work with my board :( but i know it works for yours, my friend with the same board uses it.

Im guesing you have not overclocked at all or you would have told us. I would recomend some AS5. The Asus board is awesome, whats wrong with tons of people having it

i woudlnt say its pretty, its very plain... i actually hate how it looks, but what i do like is teh options in the bios and the stability. ive used my friends and i like it a lot better than my own (WAY better than my own) it is a solid board, not too badly overpriced.
but my favorite is the gigabyte board. i havent seen one but i think they look cool and they are also solid boards with great features and a good bios which is what io like. AND IT LOOKS COOL lol. (imo)
Posted by: Keikan
I was gonna get the gigabyte board but then when i saw my store were selling asus a7n8x's i thought "hell no" but ya i mean a purple mobo

well it looks less cluttery in real life, for some reason there is a big area around the northbridge with no parts on it just stright lines (which u can see in the pic) and that kinda makes it look better but still not that great.

It's interesting that you guys care at all how your boards look.
The evil downside to having cases with windows, I suppose.

Dont you have a hovering PC to attend to? :P

Why yes I do, but I can hardly bear to work on it because the MB is so damn ugly.
Sigh.

Yeah the pics on the internet dont look that good. I used to think the same thing yall did...I thought "Throw Up" haha
But after I saw it in real life it looks pretty classy, and looks nice in my rig.

honestly who cares about their mobo color...
OK I figured out how to lower my temps, I need a new fan for my heatsink. Is this possible to replace the fan with a powerful one?
also what the speed is the stock fan suppose to go at

Yeah. I have found that when you've got a high idle temp your full load temp isnt much higher...
