Yes,

- What parts did you get? Model #s or even a link to a website.
- What operating system?

i have no problem installing the harcware and software it is just setting up the connection i cannot do. I have a ORIGO PCI card and a ORIGO PC card and for model numbers i will have a look for them now :)

are the drivers for both of them installed? is the connection showing in 'network connections' under control panel?

Posted by: clocker

Have you run the Network Connection Wizard on both machines?

How do you "fk up" the Network Connection wizard?

Anyway...if it still doesn't work, uninstall the network connections (1394 and LAC?)
and reinstall them.

to transfer files, just make them on the same workgroup, then right click a folder\drive\printer\other device and click sharing, then type in a name and choose whether the files can be changed by network users, etc. then click ok and ur done.

I recomend you write down the steps you took to get it working, as ive seen that most people forget how they fix something then have to re-ask on the forum to get it working again after a format
