i am not sure if this is the place to ask but i will ask anyway ... i am using nero to burn my things.. well i have a couple of movies that i have but everytime i try to burn them it tell me it can't read format. i don't know what it means. i see it says avi. but i don't know how to tell what format it means .. help would be nice from anyone ty :)

If you just want to save the film for later watching on your computer you should burn it as a data disk and it won't (i hope) give that error.
If you want to save it for watching on a dvd player or something else then post again with info on what you want to do with the disk.
