I have a DVD burner and I want to play DVD's on it.
Will a play station 2 play ntsc and pal format movies ???

You know when you guys play a different region on your PS2, say for example you have a pal and play a R1 dvd. Does the screen look a little pink-purplish when you play the dvd? It does on mine.

I think that the new version of the PlayStatio 2 with the "50004" BIOS supports NTSC and PAL

Nope. And the newest ones are 50010.
