I guess maybe fifteen minutes ago, American troops started "mobilizing" or whatever they call the hours just before actually attacking.

And the bombing of Baghdad's begun.

:ninja:

Indeed. We have been discussing this in chat all day and I really don't know what to say.

I wish that the people I know personally who are serving come home alive.

saddam hussein may already be dead :)

that could lessen the length of war dramatically

but the major bombing campaign is still to come.

my guess is saddam is in a bunker. they should wait it out a week in hopes of getting him. (although know they wont wait).

Posted by: TheMan1891

They will probably all be crying for their mommies before the month is up lol

please pay attention to the news before you write random things like this.

Tonights targets WERE saddam and all missiles launched were aimed at taking him out.

and you never "wait it out" if you know where he is.

Hussein almost never sleeps in bunkers. He just knock at the door of unknown civilians. Stays there for a few hours and goes somewhere else. He will be very difficult to catch.

so the war begins...on my fuckin birthday !!!

Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. It lays down strict rules of combat that include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock. As Muslims see it, injustice would be triumphant in the world if good people were not prepared to risk their lives in a righteous cause.

"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (Qur'an 2:190)

"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for God. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers." (Qur'an 2:193)

"If they seek peace, then you seek peace. And trust in God for He is the One that hears and knows all things." (Qur'an 8:61)

War is therefore the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. The often misunderstood and overused term jihad literally means "struggle" and not "holy war" (a term not found anywhere in the Qur'an). Jihad, as an Islamic concept, can be on a personal level--inner struggle against evil within oneself; struggle for decency and goodness on the social level; and struggle on the battlefield, if and when necessary.

The incongruous juxtaposition of two(in) famous, public figures, aptly demonstrates the ridiculousness of a war against Iraq. This isnt a war against terrorism, or for oil. Its a war for economic, political and military influence in the Middle East region.Pure and simple, the US jockeys for its position in that region. And all the jingoistic knuckleheads, "swaggering and spilling their anger" aint spilling their own blood over their desktops!
