As you all should know DOOM III is almost upon us. :boxing:
After reading 100's of pages of beta reviews, articles, benchmarks, requirements etc... i have fully decided that this game is going to completely own....or will it?
What are your expectations..?
You rekon it'l be as cranked up as every1 hopes it will be?

I think becuase of the wait we all been waiting for the have over done it a bit so more people will buy the game and try to attract new customers.
It is cranked up but i seem games do worse. Doom III will kiss ass, and for us oldskool doom players will be worth the wait.
:unsure: i just hope my gfx will play the game at good spec unlike FarCry and Halo(Stupid fx5200 problem)

IMO it was a POS.
Do yourself a favour and upgrade your gfx before attempting to try this game with that gf card. It will just ruin it

Well i can run Call of Duty on high and UT2004 on High so not to bad but it just does not work well on some games i will update it to a 6800 Ultra i think when they come a bit cheaper

i've saved up a lot of pennies, and i've (so far) scrounged up 53 dollars (preordered for 15 bucks, doesn't mean u've actually bought the game, u just get to pick it up when it comes in), i just need a couple more and i'm set (don't wanna forget about the stupid 14.5% tax here <_< ). only game i've bought in A VERY LONG TIME B) .

I hope it's got all the creepiness and dark rooms of the original. Somehow converting fps games to 3D took away the 'scare' factor for me... :(

256 memory will help, but not much. If there was a X800 XT 128MB, it probably run just as well as the 256 MB.

Sometimes companies (::cough::nVidia::cough::) like to trick n00bs by taking really crappy cards (FX5200, FX5600) and throwing on 256 MBs of memory, while leaving the speed of the clocks and memory rediculously slow. So people go "Oooh! 256 MBs of memory? THis must be awesome!" only to find out a 64MB 8500 Pro schools these 256MB cards. But on two cards where clocks are the same but one has 128MBs and the other 256 MBs, you won't see a big difference in FPS on DOOM ]|[ (so my logic tells me).

There's a MSI 9800 pro that's actually a 9800XT that's underclocked at NewEgg for $195.
