Which Psu Antec Or Akasa

Hi,
Well i have a crappy 300W right now and voltages are not great so i been looking around and i narrowed down to these 2. Sorry for huge info and all that. For quiteness i might go for Akasa but for performance and power the antec.

I like the Akasa.
I have only had one Antec ( so my experience is limited) and it had a terrible 12v rail...bounced all over from 11.7 to 12.2.
My Aspire ( on the identical setup) is rock solid at 11.99v.
Maybe I had a lemon, but the Antec didn't impress me at all.

well both had good reviews from what i been reading the akasa did not have a problem when all rails full of components hardly a change in voltage. I can get the akasa with a very nice blue led fan which would look nice with my future mods thought. read yellow led fan and front green led and green cold cathode just above front grill will look very nice.

ah i did not know that which is the 92 the intake or exhaust i could go forthe antec it has 480w

Now you've lost me.
Making a hardware decision based on fan color seems silly to me...get the best hardware you can and use lights to tart up the case if you must.

The intake is the 92mm one.
I have to agree with clocker. A decision based on bling bling seems silly to me also.

Angel, you're going to have to go with your gut on this one.
I have limited experience with PSUs.
My aversion to Antec is based on one unit...hardly a large enough sample to be scientific.
Maybe VB has a larger database to draw conclusions from.

lol angel makes me sound like a girl i really should change name.
anyway i read a few more reviews and antec is the bestfor voltages and tempratures it also helps my other case fans be speed controlled. the akasa does not do this.

I did not care for the "fan only" control as implemented by the Antec PSU.
The case fans always ran at the slowest setting irregardless of the actual case temp.
This may have been due to the placement of the sensor in the PSU itself.
I much preferred to regulate the case fans independent of the PSU.

vb said yesterday in another thread that the antec has a speed controller that can control all fdans in your case. that would be helpful. :)

the 550w antec has the fan speed control. The 480W does not i am not to fussy about it.Also i could add the fans to 1 of the 3 rails for 4 pin components for full speed.

they should stress a cheap 350watt psu and see what the max is they get out of that. :lol:

The 480w does not hav the speed control knob thats what i am saying thats the 550w truecontrol psu
