Possible Ram Problem

Hey, I had one stick of Infineon DDR400 Ram. I recently bought another stick, same brand, same speed, etc to run dual channel with. I've had dual channel working before using my one stick of DD400 and a stick of DDR333 and it worked fine. Now when I try to run dual channel, it works fine at stock speeds but when I try any oc at all, I get a series of long slow beeps during POST. I used to be able to oc up to about 2.3Ghz with my old slower ram, but now with my new ram I can't get any oc at all.

Specs are:
NF7-S 2.0
Infineon DDR400Mhz (256x2)
Athlon 2800+ Barton (unlocked)

Any idea why I can't get any OC out of this at all. And why upgrading ram has unabled me to do anyhting past stock speeds?

:frusty:

did it used to overclock with only one stick of ram?

if it didnt then u probably need to increase the voltage for the cpu ;)

I've increased voltages on chipset, vcore, and vdimm, all making no difference at all.
Besides if it were a voltage problem, I believe the beeps would be shorter and closer together rather then the long slow ones I'm getting now.
It is not a voltage problem, any other ideas anyone?

How do you have the CPU FSB/RAM ratio set in BIOS?

Mine is set at 6:6 and seems fine, you may have to try a different ratio to achieve stability.

Alright, I'll give that a shot

Memory or video error (http://www.pcguide.com/ts/x/sys/beep/award.htm)...so you're on the right track.

probably need to change the timings a little or something.
