if you have XP Pro, all you need to do is set your BIOS to boot from CD and your done.......

though it wouldnt help to get that XP version, since its the CORP version you dont have to activate it.......... saves alot of trouble ;)

I'd run one of those programs like killdisk just to make sure the new owner doesn't recover any of your old files.

Pr0n is the least of it. The guy who originally wrote this eye opening article (http://simson.net/clips/2003/2003.CSO.04.Hard_disk_risk.htm) was retrieving PIN and CC numbers from hard drives that had previously resided in ATMs and cash registers ... and he was just doing it as a hobby.

hahaha.......... yeah, we had this here............ last week someone with a high rank at the justice department here in holland put his laptop in the trash (cause it didnt work anymore)......... a taxi driver saw it, took it home and was able to get it to work within minuits....... a shitload of confidential information was on that (of alot of very important cases and such).........

people can be VERY ignorant when it comes to computers :P

And I though I was the only one with this kind of hobby. There is a lot of data out there. I mostly by the hard drives to rebuild used systems and sell them to lower income families. But you would be surprized the data I find sometimes.

Everywhere, since that's how it comes.
