Guide section.

We are planning to make a section for guides only.

So I want to ask: If you know of a guide that has been posted here in the past, then please post a link to it here, so we can easily add it when the new section is created.

- No need to point out pinned (sticky) threads.
- Replies that don't contain links to guide(s) will be removed from this thread.

Thanks.

Ike

------------------------
EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANT TO ASK IN HERE!

*ahem*

shameless bump

well, i want to add: isnt the object of such a section that we can do away with hundereds of pinned topics?

make it stand out from the main page, and actually put the topics in there!

* guide section updated

It's good IKE.

One suggestion though...sticky every guide.
It seems pointless but the guides that aren't posted in for a while get hidden from users because they're old topics...

I'm still of the opinion that the guides should be locked.

They are supposed to be guides, not discussion points. Discussions about a guide should be held in the relevant discussion forum, that's what they are for.

But I'm not saying that they can't be modified or added to, just that we need a more controlled way of doing it.

At the moment I don't think there are any sections that have more than 10 threads, so people with the default board settings will see the full list, but obviously that may change. Maybe we can change a setting for a particular forum so that it's default is more than 10. I'll have a look into that.

No I changed the guide section that all threads will be shown even if your own settings are set 2 hide threads older then X days.
