restarting winmx files

Sorry i'm a noob to winmx and I cant figure out how to restart downloads if I close the program for any reason.
It will be ticking away nicley but if I want my bandwidth for somthing else and shut down winmx, when I open it again download is in red and not going anywhere?

I've downloaded WinMX about twice before and it has never worked (couldn't download anything) for me for some reason. :ermm:
EDIT: Hmmm. Seems like that site may be the solution to why I couldn't download anything. :P
