Sleeping Hard Drive.

I just installed a new slave drive and it seems to go to sleep if it is inactive even though the power setting schemes state for the HD to never sleep.
What up with that? And is it good for HDs to sleep. it only takes a couple seconds once and a while for it to kick it. If that makes it live a longer happier life should i worry about it?

it certainly conserves power, so it'll do your electricity bill good.

How long does it take before it goes to sleep again? There must be some power management configured for it to do that.
