What's your internet download speed?
If you aren't sure then go here (http://www.dslreports.com/stest) and do a speed test, that will tell you. :)

2mb Adsl

3mbs down (4mbs soon though with the upgrade)

@Rossco: You should have made this a public vote so no-one cheats...

Posted by: DanB

1mb atm but we are getting upgraded to 2mb next week :01:

Posted by: Samurai

Can anyone in the UK here, check out UK Online (.net) and see if they're able to get the 8MB service in their area when it's released next year. I'm in London (not a rural part) and I'm unable. Maybe others will get better results?

kthxbye

So if we wanted to misbehave we could do it in threads with large BMP files?

Posted by: Afronaut

Took the test
Your download speed : 182260 bps, or 177 kbps.
A 22.2 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 157918 bps, or 154 kbps.

I think its somewhat BS results.

I've seen max about 120 coming when downloading from microsoft.com.

Uploading at max around 33kbs

I got 1MB up and 256 down ADSL. Which is also shared with punch of folks in the same house,
and that might affect it a little.

edit:

I did couple other tests in the same country, got around 660 kbit/s. average.

Blueyonder 4mb down (come christmas) and unliited sounds the better option at just 10 quid more.

I can't get Telewest. I'm in NTL area and after they couldn't supply me with a stable 1MB cable I told em they were shit, and they had monkeys working for them. I then said other swear words which I won't repeat. Then I cancelled my TV, phone, and Internet and went with Bulldog 2Mb (no caps).

only thing is i have no tv :( but i didn't watch it that much anyway.

This is what I got now:

I was on a 756kbps/256kbps, then they upgraded it to a 1Mbps/256kbps for less money, but the computer has always said its connected at 2.3Mbps so I guess they have just unlimited the connection a bit more, which is nice of them.... though I keep expecting them to tell me it was a error and put it back to the way it was.... I just wish they would give me a 512kbps or more upload as well so I can keep my torrent ratio easier

5714 kbps down, 3707kbps up on the college resnet (one line of my two personal lines since my roommate moved out.) unfortunitly there is a two gig per day limit per line. at least if you know that you are going to be downloading a large file like a dvd, you can tell them ahead of time and they will not shut off your internet when you exceed the limit. also we have an on campus file sharing program that is not bounded by the download limit, so I at one point downloaded 39 gig in a day.
