Need A Movie Suggestion

Hopefully this is the right category for this topic. For my Comp 2 class we have to do a compare & contrast paper. Our play is "Long Day's Journey into Night" by Eugene O'Neill. I'm trying to decide on a movie to use to compare to. I'm thinking of American Beauty because of the aspect of a family coming apart, I was curious if anyone who has read this play has any good suggestions for what movie to use. Thanks.

amreican beauty seems like a good movie for the paper
i do not know of "long days journey into night", but
american beauty seems to fit. his long time good family life
doing a complete 180(day to night) into a total mess.

Well, did you come up with a movie?
Response here was a trifle thin. Since I'm sure that everyone here is totally familiar with the works of O'Neill it must be that no one watches movies...

I'm thinking American Beauty since I actually remember most of the movie and I think it compares well. I can't really think of any others so I'm probably going to be using American Beauty since I have to write about 5 pages this weekend.
