If your d/ling a movie & you want to check it's o.k. by using avi. preview.
What if there happens to be a virus in the movie??? does this mean that it will infect your pc because you've opened the file??? .

Your AV software should be scanning all incoming traffic for viruses, if a movie has a virus in it it'll be pickup before it's finished downloading. But it's mainly software downloads that contain viruses which you can't open until they've completed.

it is almost impossible for a movie to contain a virus.
mp3 have been known to if you use cetain players due to buffer overflows but it is not really a problem.
