try Bittorrent (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/forumdisplay.php?f=43)
or Newsgroups (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/forumdisplay.php?f=79)

those are your best bets, it also depends on what type of movies you are downloading, newer ones i like irc, but that can be hard for newbies (bittorent works fine too), older ones are bittorent and emule,
IKE I dont know if newsgroups are what i would recomend to a newbie, but that is personal prefrence and it is worth the time to learn.

go for BT (Bittorrent)
very fast downloads.

i would also kick off with bittorrent. it is kind of an introduction to newsgroups and the idea of multiple-rar archives.

Im tryng to use mIc but when i try to download something it doesnt work, i accept that i want the file but it says the connection falied. Then it keeps saying the following....
[wW]-{felon}-100- *** You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (90 seconds remaining until timeout)
Does anyone know what this means?

Ive given up on mIRC for a minute, ive been having a look at Bit Torrent and it looks good and theres plenty of sites that let you download torrents. But i was wondering is there anyway you can make it safer for you not to get caught downloading these files from the websites?

PeerGuardian is a tiny firewall program especially designed for P2P software users, but also to anyone who is concerned about the investigations that corporations and authorities perform on the internet. PeerGurdian blocks connections for the configured IP ranges and logs the blocked connections. It uses an online IP database for the blocking, but IP ranges can also be configured manually. Pre-cofigured for blocking are RIAA, MPAA and many others.

Mate try cinematik It has a wide range of movie collections, specifically OLd ones like criterions, cinema master directors etc.. and as a bonus asiandvdclub who previously met it's demise when piratebay was raided on the same day, decided to go to cinematik to reupload there asian movies in affiliation with them; cinematik happily adopted them and even made their own selection tab, they have agreat asian titles by the way mostly old ones as the cinematik preffered it. It's free to sign up right now, however, you have to wait for a little while because it seems ADC has brought again another bad luck, this time to the Cinematik site itself. There's a blog that says they are temporarily down due to some personal problem and not due to raiding and police investigations whatsoever. I think they will be back very soon! after the admins wife forgives him...LOL

Unfortunately for people new to bittorrent the best private trackers are all invite only, or completely private. I am member of most but it has taken time, effort and patience to get there. (especially scenetorrents)
