OK i have PC1 card installed serial ATA card 150 2 ports
the SATA HD is connect to it through the 2 cable
i start up the PC
it says press F4 or control C to enter the raid Bios utility I try to do that and it does shit all
then it just says no primary drive found or no secondary drive found then just boots up to windows
wtf do I do

Double check the drives have power and shit, jumper settings and whatnot.

What card is it EXACTLY. Guessing games are fun but often don't provide the required results.

the card seems to be installed fine but I just can;t get it to read this SATA Seagate HD
as i said i cant even get to the bios

but that don't matter coz i cant even get it too go in the bios utility grrrrr
I didn't try moving it too a different slot as the motherboard seems to recagise it even windows does!!
but it just asy at the beginning press f4 or control c to get ot the utility Bios it doesn't do it it does shit all. then it just says drive not found
so I'm guessing i can't get to the raid bios coz it wont recagnise my HD

OK ATM theres only 1 plug into the HD that pug is the digital interface which plugs into the PCI right?? now here we go the power slut has nothing in it!!!!!
which means im going to have to fucking by a IDE power supply converter im sure it it czo the ones on this don't fit into the fucking HD!!!!!!! I was under the impression card controlled the power.
this is Turing out to be a $400 very expensive fucking HD

nah SATA drives have power connectors just like IDEs
my PSU has a SATA power plug, why not yours? :P
but anyway, you should be able to get an adapter for under 5 bucks (USD)
dont know what that translates to in AUD, but it cant be much

what i meant was i thought the fard controlled the digital interface and what i had plugged in was just the power!! but its the bigger chord thats the power not like IDE so its running without power ffs that will also mean goodbye to the 40 gig coz ill haev to use this power chord
so I take it i unplug one fo the power chords im useing for IDE atm
shove it in the pwoer converter then plug the power convert into the HD???
show me a pic of wtf it looks liek the thing i have to get

but if you dont have an open power plug....
it may be time to look into another PSU :P

or...if you have the power but just not enough plugs...
you can get one of these:

to split the 4 pin, then plug the 4 pin to 15 pin adapter to one of em and to the SATA,
then the other to the IDE

maybe some zip ties or twist ties,

OK i seemed to have controlled Thant problem bios works now and drive is recognized now...... how do I set this Sata to a slave?? the IDE is master coz its got windows on it but obviously windows won't recagise my sata because its not slave its master
any suggestions?
