is Kazaa finally dead

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: help 222333

was a long time member of the original KLyte BB. Have remained with KLyte 2.43 and used the fixer to connect to files to finish (great way or at least was a great way to always connect). For some reason my old name, password no longer work.

OK, I like porn and dl tons of it. Starting last friday it seems a huge server has flooded Kazaa with Scallyboys, football, etc., files at dl's of 3900 and its now virtually impossible to find files or dl files. The use of filters doesn't really help. Any search in this area brings up 10, 20,000 files all named the above. For sure, all fakes. Has MVAA finally found a way to disable Kazaa?Appreciate any suggestions how to ovwercome this problem.

Posted by: S!X

Kazaa sucks, if you want to dl porn dl it with bittorrent.

Posted by: TheDave

one word. bit-torrent.
wait is that two words?
actually three words. bit-torrent + empornium.us
wait, maybe thats two words

Posted by: Arm

Yes Kazaas dead. Or should I say, obselete. At the very least all the old(non-leech) Kazaa users should move onto Ares (http://www.aresgalaxy.org/).

Posted by: ADHD

if you dont like torrents i have found ares to be a good source for porn and what not...gave up on kazza and klite a couple years ago.

Posted by: monkeyman1

Kazaa is old news i would also suggest bittorrent

Posted by: silent h3ro

I'm surprised it lasted this long.

Posted by: DanB

what is Kazaa?

what is Kazaa?

Posted by: Mïcrösöül°V³

I agree kazaa is shit, but i still use it from time to time to find songs that i dont know the name of, like just type in what you think the name is, and it will bring up the name, and then you can go get it elsewhere.

k++ = uninstalled
other item = installed

Posted by: JRSellers

:D Lately, I've had mucho better luck using KL++ to download songs @ music vidz than with LimeWire PRO.

Posted by: worldpease

Kazaa might be dying fast,
what's more, I don't even use it anymore,
but it brings feelings to me...
it was the software that introduced me to the beautiful p2p world,
and I still can remember that it felt like my greatest achivement in my computer career, sudently I was downloading any song I wanted, it was the best...
but of course at the moment I didn't understan that it was what made my PC so slow, I didn't even knew what the word spyware meant, still those where beautiful times, times of inossence, at least in some ways.
I guess it was doomed along with its spyware and adware.
-good bye kazaa, and thank you-. ...lol.

btw, I now use mostly Bittorent, and also ARES.

Posted by: jorgin

kazaa just plain sucks. find something else

Posted by: thewizeard

Well its not dead, and it has always worked for me...Where other networks fail, Kazaa succeeds....

I use K-lite++2.43..

Posted by: speeddemon5988

I don't think it's anywhere near as useful as it used to be. You'd be much better off getting your porn from another filesharing client, like bittorrent. Not to mention that kazaa had all kinds of kiddie porn on there. You have to be real careful what you download with it.

Posted by: thewizeard

...on every file-sharing network where vidoes and films are shared, one will find porn....( if you look, that is  )

So the answer to this thread is no!

Posted by: Unknown04

comon guys..... bring kazaa back to life !!! all people use back kazaa and share non-currupted files..... keep sharing.... stay cool... !! kazaa hasn't dead yet.... i'm still using it and lovin it....

Posted by: MCHeshPants420

Still use it alongside other filiesharing apps.

Been getting old Family Guy and Doctor Who episodes with it at decent speeds. With over 2 million users still it's going to be a useful program to have.

Posted by: orcutt989

:D Lately, I've had mucho better luck using KL++ to download songs @ music vidz than with LimeWire PRO.

Yeah, Kazza Lite just has more stuff on it because it is older. You can find any music video you want on it.

Posted by: Peerzy

You can find any music video you want on it.

Over statement of the year, compared with other programs Kazaa is the scum of P2P, its good for the odd thing but not worth the install just to find maybe one song at some shitty bandwidth.

Posted by: sameer0807

Kazaa was never alive. Full of virus crap, spywares, etc etc......

Posted by: cigar

kazzaaa was always dead

Posted by: Borizmeiko

and it will be dead for all time.
amen.

Posted by: Omicrontheta

I've always used it for the random mp3 I can't find on bt sites but yeah...bottom of barrel :(

Posted by: twisterX

It wont be dead unless it is like perminantly closed which is impossible. So if there are 2 people using it it is alive.

Posted by: 100%

someone should kill it like a suffering horse.

Posted by: GR81

Kazaa is full of trojans and is the home of the anti-P2P lobby. Just look at how many of the people that have been sued for downloading an MP3 were using Kazaa. It was good after the demise of Napster but it's no longer worth the trouble.

Posted by: mirabiliz

kazaa is the best program for d/ling music in my opinion.

Posted by: sweetieface

i personally think that kazaa is good for music , but when it comes to movies bittorent is more perferable.

Posted by: ziggie216

kazaa was dead to me long time ago... cant even get a decent song these days w/o someone screwing around w/ it

Posted by: penis911

i loved kazaa lite it was SOOOOOO easi to use :( RIP

Posted by: GenesisJLS

I still use kazaa. Ehh but you cant dl any movies off it anymore.

Posted by: Merty

You can download virusses with KaZaA. That's cool :D

Posted by: Dawkins19312

Why are people still using Kazaa?

Posted by: ziggyjuarez

As long as noobs live,so will Kazaa

Posted by: Dawkins19312

I thought noobs have latched onto Limewire....

Posted by: ziggyjuarez

nope

Posted by: natedogg

As long as noobs live,so will Kazaa
true true

Posted by: saadniazi

true :)

Posted by: tolga

It seemed like alot of people moved to limewire, but even that is eh, a smelly fish

Posted by: Ps2mad2k2

I haven't used kazaa in ages i prefer torrents. I think thats the way forward

Posted by: Broken

Kazaa is stil around because everyone goes through stages in thier life of digital piracy.

Kazaa is the light stuff. Very easy to use, well know. It's the program the kids all start with. Some never move on to higher forms of piracy.

The second stage is a program like emule. A little harder to use, slightly better content. People will general move to this stage after they get tired of the spoofing and viruses that infest the first level.

The third level is BitTorrent or IRC. With these forms of piracy viruses and fakes are very low. The draw backs being that BitTorrent is the most dangerous protocal for file trading out there. All that needs to happen is 'The Powers That Be' join a swarm and they can get the information of everyone in the swarm regaurdless if they connect to them directly or not. Also download speed is limited by upload speed and the number of people in that swarm.
I never got too involved with IRC, but from the little I did use it content was limited and dealing with bots can be a pain in the ass.

The next two levels involve money and many users refuse to pay-to-play.
There's Usenet, a pre-internet system that has become much easier to use recently with nzb files. Benifites include full contection speed on all downloads, good content, little or no fakes, no uploading (sharing) on the part of the typical user.

The last and higest level is the 'Topsites'
Not many users will get to this level. They are secerative and hard to get involved with. This is where all the stuff really comes from. You need to know the right people, have the ability to provide money, content, or skills. Plus the ability to kiss ass. It's basically a collection of FTP sites.

Kazaa serves as a gateway to bigger and better things

Posted by: Charmig_latino

hmmm.....sounds familiar....

Posted by: artifact

kazaa will always be alive in some form or another as the lowest/easiest method of piracy....

Posted by: orcutt989

To those that say kazza was always dead, you are wrong because kazza was a very popular client for a while.

Posted by: Broken

True,
and I remeber when Napster was "the shit" too.
But that was long ago and time only runs in one direction.

Posted by: Rjones

kazaa users should move too limewire if not torrents or usenet.

Posted by: nospampl

Kazaa is not good, I always use limewire or torrents.

Posted by: cartmanidan

Kazaa is on the track of destruction.
No one comes to it and lots others leav it.

Posted by: livewirerules

kazza doesnt seems to work for me too.it doesnt connect

Posted by: ricky912

Yeh Kazaa is dead. But i managed to get my hands on Morpheus ltra and its awsome.

Posted by: 1337sk33t

hopefully ......... kazaa pissed me off so much in the days lol

kazaa is great for battling the **AA

how to play:
run K++
run PG2
force "become supernode"
dont share any files (you're a supernode and the network needs your bandwidth)

if more people did this, there would be more supernodes not 0wned by the **AA running the network

instead of bitching about the network, do something about it :p

I'm tired of getting the files I want fast, and not finding a load of spoofs and viruses.

Long Live Kazaa!!

Posted by: adrian2055

Kazaa will never die. It's too damn easy to use. A lot of people still use kazaa because they say bittorrent it too difficult to use (ha!ha!ha!....dumbasses!). Instead of KaZaA I use K-Lite Resurrection. It works perfectly with no spyware. The original kazaa sucks donkey dick! Nobody should use it! As long as they don't bring back WinMX I'm satisfied. That shit was horrible! People wouldn't share their files! I'm glad it's gone! I do miss Audiogalaxy and Aimster though.

Music (Single Song)=K-Lite Resurrection And Limewire
Music (Complete CD) And Everything Else=eMule And Bitorrent

Posted by: MillerMCM

Once it became impossible to find a decent version of a song on there, it was bye bye Kazaa and I moved on to BT permanantly.

Don't miss it a bit.

Posted by: limesqueezer

Kazaa can't be shut down cause its not the only program on that FastTrack network. If they wanted to shut down FastTrack forever they wouldn't have the chance to charge every program that uses FastTrack for money.

Posted by: superazo

Kazaa has been dead for 3 years at least, it's all about the torrents now!

Posted by: limesqueezer

Im not sure if gnutella or torrents have more files than fasttrack, i really doubt that some torrent files even start that are to be found. Not that im into any of the programs but torrents really arn't any better unless you make your homework. If torrents were soo good i would probably use it more than 2 times on few months, not that im not a member of good sites and didn't do my homework :D, it just sucks. If i used just kazaa it would suck, if i used just torrents it would suck as limewire sucks. I don't know why you ain't using a program that connects to all 3 networks. That would solve the neverendng talk about what is better.

Posted by: 360

kazaa is user friendly just as you pointed out. the other filesharing programs are not. so its here to stay. half of p2p is kazaa so how in hell can it be dead? but i havent been on kazaa for 4 years so what do i know heheh.

Posted by: Barbarossa

Not alot :dabs:

There are many p2p programs that are just as 'user friendly' as kazaa was. KCeasy and Shareaza to name but two.

The benefit of these over Kazaa is that they actually work :smilie4:

Kazaa accounts for less than 30% of all p2p sharing now, according to Slyck's stats, and that doesn't even include Bittorrent or newsgroups, which account for the vast majority of filesharing.

Posted by: don45

i think kazaa is dead, there are beter programs

Posted by: kava119

Kazaa was terrible when it started, when it gained popularity it just got worse. Good riddance that it got shut down.

Posted by: Vargas

:(

Posted by: batoloco

If you want use Fasttrack, use FilePipe (http://www.filepipe.org/). It can use multiple networks. Clean and smart, no spyware included.

Posted by: raaf

Kazaa sucks, if you want to dl porn dl it with bittorrent.

Posted by: aburyach

Used Kazaa 3 or 4 years back. Then I switched to bittorrent- haven't looked back since.

Posted by: david02

Kazaa isn't that bad. I just use it no more.

Posted by: ssj4gogeta

I have never used Kazaa but have heard so many bad stories about it, so I would never consider using it. Plus I can find almost anything I need on Bittorrent Trackers as there are so many of them.

Posted by: simitchi

Kazaa isn't that bad. I just use it no more.

Yeah.!!;)

Posted by: scone

I used Kazaa for ALONG time back when i didnt' know about Torrents and such. I moved to Bittorrent and Limewire.

I still have my kazaa lite build of like 2003 lol

Posted by: amobeus

If it is not dead it should be. That program almost destroyed my computer. Even Kazaa lite. Never will trust it. Torrents all the way. You can monitor your own security that way.

Posted by: jbright

Kazaa.. that thing was pure junk... but the only means to an end for a short span of time.

Posted by: Artakserksis

Last time I used Kazaa was like 2-3 years ago...then I found out that there were actually more "programs like kazaa", and they were better. Now I'm using bittorrent and E-mule for general downloads and Soulseek for music. I believe if you use these you won't ever need anything else, unless RIAA targets them.

Posted by: Tmaster

only bittorrent

Posted by: sky

I just cannot connect with it anymore, i downloaded the snode.reg file but that did not seem to help. I also forced being a supernode, which seemed to connect me but even then when i search for anything it instantly said it was finished with no results.

So i guess there is nothing i can do with it now.

Posted by: LookingAround

I wasn't able to get connected to it so I got rid of it ages back. BitTorrent is better. I expect LimeWire will soon get the boots too.

Posted by: free2rhume45

yeha kaza is shit and yeah use torrents and is not than ares is good

Posted by: ExilE^

I thought this thing was basicly dead on arivial.. to me its not most programs like its kind.. fake share or low quality files full of junk.. if I wanted junk I'd go to the fish and chip shop or another fast food outlet for my real fix

I perfer to use DC++ or BT enough said :)

Posted by: straightjacket

I too disliked Kazaa from the get-go, but I cannot help but laugh at some of these posts since I recall the "good old days" when everyone was praising Kazaa and its "bounty" (lololol)--while using KMD, not KLite. Oh, how hip trends change!

I used Morpheus before then and liked it, but for a while it was "merged" with Sharman Networks (in 2002?). As a n00b, I resorted to KMD for a while afterwards. I hated it; it was all advertisement, in all senses of the word. Everything was either fake, low-quality, or "More Connections Needed." Full games? Applications? Albums? Ebooks? Fuhggitaboutit! There were many threads and chats about how awesome this apparent replacement for Napster was. Whenever I responded my experiences or talked about the network's true lack of quality, I was immediately "corrected." I eventually used Kazaa Lite and liked it, but it could not hide the network's essential faults.

Out of all the networks out there, I have to say Kazaa is definitely the worst I have ever used. Everything else has allowed me to get and share quality multimedia, but not good-ol' Kazaa (and heaven forbid the verb "share" on Kazaa). Even as a dedicated torrent user who did not do some of the "homework" on time, I still enjoy my filesharing experience far more with Kazaa kept away from my desktop.

This has been yet another post that has technically contributed nothing to the forum.

For Me This Works Best
LimeWire Pro -Music
Utorrent- For The Rest :D

Posted by: Kytter

For Sure. For Now eMule and BitTorrent is Much Better, much more Speedy and much more Advanced.

LimeWire - Music And Clips.
BitTorrent - For Movies and Games.
eMule - Music in Hebrew Language(there is nothing on LimeWire).

Posted by: tdoar

i download all my music from emule, is limewire better for it?

Posted by: gatorade

does this network still exist? havent even touched it in years

Posted by: kabloomz

i am surprised there is still a dedicated section for Kazaa... why not just remove or lock the whole section?

Posted by: boss77

yep kazza dead now torrents have good live

Posted by: keepit

kazza officially dead :)

Posted by: trobinson97

i am surprised there is still a dedicated section for Kazaa... why not just remove or lock the whole section?

I was surprised to see the Kazaa section up as well after having not logged in a few years.

I used morpheus then went to KMD for about a month. After I finally got all the viruses and spyware off my system I went straight to irc. Ut;s funy though, even after abandoning it I was a mod for a site that offered verified hashes for it, for about a year I think. We were just about to switch primarily to bittorent when Microsoft and other corporations sicced the law on us. Went to ftp for a while, then dc++, then xdcc catcher. Now it's primarily torrents if I download anything.

Posted by: dreda

I'm surprised it lasted this long

Kazaa was my first p2p app

man that is what made me found klite and found this forum

Posted by: m_atalay

yeahhh kazaa dead

Posted by: ramzouzy

kazaaa has too much viruses... damnn i love the person who introduced me to torrents:D

There are never enough seeds for porn on bittorrent. Recommendations? :p

Posted by: OmaRin0

kazaa is shit!

Posted by: lightshow

AlexV, sign up at fileporn.org

I started with napster -> winmx (first p2p to resume!!) -> klite (never KMD) -> IRC -> ftp -> newsgroup (free) -> bittorent -> rapidshare.de

Posted by: surubi

kazaa is dead. BT is real P2P, no fakes, etc.!

Sorry, I missed that :)

Yes you read correctly in only two days time the new Klite 2.5++ will be made available to a few trusted members of this forum for Betá testing.

If you too would like to help the development team, by downloading Klite 2.5++ and testing it, by making and also downloading a few small test torrents, also it's current connect-ability to the new FileSharingTalk filesharing network ( http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/everything-related-board/t-filesharingtalkcom-slavanap-server-163745); ....the latest new Klite 2.5++ with BitTorrent client, tracker and chat channel plug-in? Then please write here in this thread the specifications of your computer; OS type RAM, connection speed, that sort of thing and..MOTIVATION!

You will receive notice of your application, here in this thread , and if chosen receive a personal code for the download, by PM.

I agree kazaa is shit, but i still use it from time to time to find songs that i dont know the name of, like just type in what you think the name is, and it will bring up the name, and then you can go get it elsewhere.

Once for the Zombie Nation song i typed in "oooo oo" and got it!!

I started p2p with kazaa. Now it's dead and torrent rules the world.

K++ was a good memory.

Posted by: Beastilio

I say bring back Napster, thats were it was at. Not the legal Napster, the old school one, best of its kind....

Posted by: Leviathan

Everyone says Kazaa is dead etc etc but it never happens.

I've noticed the number of users has recovered to about 250000 from 70000 6 months ago, where admitedly all seemed lost.

Not back to its hey day, but it will get there! Have faith!

Posted by: HMthePM

they would never die. No such strict rules, no banning of ip, no ratio requirements and it still has some pretty good stuff.
most of the music vids I get from limewire. I dont much care about 0day stuff but all the old and rare stuff are keeping p2p alive.

most of the music vids I get from limewire. I dont much care about 0day stuff but all the old and rare stuff are keeping p2p alive.

I totally agree with you. The old and rare stuff is the one that's keep p2p alive.

The latest technology now is TV online and most of them are using p2p technology. I think they will be a newer p2p technology in the future.

P2P will stay forever, like PC's when it's was invented by IBM :)

Kazaa is full of S**t and viruses
if you are looking for porn only
rapidshare premium account will help you a lot.
also Bittorrent+Empornium or PussyTorrents is a great thing :)

edit: BearShare is also a great P2P program like Kazaa but 1000000 times better

kazaa lite will never be dead

The concept will never die. But the number of sharers using the network are dismal.

I didn't realize Kazaa was still alive

The last few times I tried using it, I came up with nothing... though that was a year or 2 ago now..

It's one of the better ways to find obscure or old stuff.

I haven't use Kazaa for years. Pretty dead for me and i don't know any1 who is using Kazaa. But still, Kazaa was the first thing i downloaded stuff with. But yeah, nowadays it's dead - I've heard that there still are few ppl using it, but yeah. Don't see any point.

I was surprised when I saw one of my friends using Kazaa for music this last year, I though it was dead and gone.
