What is the best software to use for downloading from news groups

Of all the free newsreaders I'd say Grabit.
Of all the not-so-free newsreaders definitely Newsleecher.

what version is it worth getting version 2.00 beta or 1 final

I'm still using the final version of newsleecher.
Just too lazy to update I guess.
Just get the latest beta version of Newsleecher.
It's stable and you get the Supersearch function with it.
I'll see if I can find a copie of it on usenet.
I'll PM you the .nzb if I find it ;)

whats .nzb im new to news groups

It's a file containing all the information a newsreader needs to download any given file, or set of files.
So you don't have to go looking for all the files first in your newsreader.
All you got to do is open the .nzb with your newsreader and it will do all the work for you.
Anyway, didn't find a copy of newsleecher on usenet.

I prefer Grabit, if Newsleechers Super Search was usable without paying ;) I would switch 2 Newsleecher.

Newsleecher is a far better client...
Maybe so, but it is the buggiest program I have ever used...
On top of that, it randomly deletes articles you've downloaded. Now i don't know about everyone else, but I downright hate having to download, and redownload a million articles, continuously, just to see whats going on in a newsgroup.
So I just stick to Grabit, never failed me, and plus in the newest version, it now offers the ability to hard limit article downloads, so it's patched it's only flaw!

I know you had alot of these issues with NL although its been perfect for me and with mutiservers is fatsre for me also although I still use GrabIt to Search quite abit still and will be checking out the new version soon...
