Posted by: BigMike01

I have been using Nod32 4ever and never had a prob so i must vote nod.

Posted by: marquinhooo

I use Norton and NOD32.

Posted by: kaiser

Using NOD32 for a very long time now. Best thing around IMHO.
My advice don't ever even consider trying G-data software ;)

Posted by: Disme

Kaspersky ... the best !

Posted by: jakub19911

I apply NOD32 iit is best

Posted by: metrofan

Avira is soooo light! And never had a problem, even browsing on highly dangerous sites.
You should consider adding Avira to the pool.

Posted by: sch0k

And where is Avira?
Tested the most antivirus programs, and I feel Avira AntiVir works best on good security for an active sharer.
And it's free :)
Or I will recommend Kaspersky.

Posted by: optimus78

Nod32

Posted by: antonii

Symantec Antivirus ;-] i voted

Posted by: BadFungus

NOD32 , better than kaspersky

Posted by: under.zero

NOD32 the best

Posted by: notyviv

AVG, Norton, NOD32
I keep shifting between these so all these are the best for specific reasons.

Posted by: Costello

now personaly i use nod32 but the best antivirus is Sophos Antivirus it used even BY Gmail
all antivirus are good if they have updates daily

Posted by: munaaf

I would reccomend Kaspersky, i really liked it and was probably the best, however it rely slowed my computer, so if u have a really poor one like mine forget the big names, like KAV and Bitdefender etc they all kill the speed of ur comp. Now i would say use Avast, not the best but if ur comp cant take the others then it can take this :P

Posted by: twe4k

eheh none !
I had norton before, but I realised it sucks kinda big, so when it expired, I never renewed it. If you aren't stupid and make sure to be careful on the net, there is no problem...

But I install antivir on all my friend's machines and will install it after my next reformat, and I'll soon setup a nice firewall with m0n0wall, pretty bulletproof :P

Posted by: gabelcojo

I'm using nod32 for some time and i think he is worth my vote.

Posted by: tknaught

I have been using NOD32 for a very long time and was a big fan until it let me get infected by Vundo even after I manually scanned the suspicious file. Then it was unable to clean the virus either :ermm:

Posted by: KalleKnut

I am using Kaspersky. I really recommend it to all of you. I've tried Nod32 and Symantec something but Kaspersky is far the best antivirusprogram out there. :)

Posted by: Konvict

Posted by: yevgeny

Nod32 with Sygate firewall ftw. lol.

I have used for long time nod32 but few days ago i wanted something new to try and i have installed avast professional and so far works great

and it is also recommended for other too

Posted by: marraqy

nod32 the best

Posted by: drfreshstart

this is my proof http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ , bitdefender is the best of best, my computer's life seperated into two, before bitdefender and after bitdefender , all virus said bye bye when it downloaded, with bitdefender i am using 2 more very effective software which called stopzilla + webroot spy sweeper, they become woltran when together... and of course acronis is at the first line

Posted by: xtrem3

I stoped using AV 2 years ago :D

Posted by: fOrUmAs

I stoped using AV 2 years ago :D

well only if u are on linux OS :D

Posted by: nthpeter

NOD32 is enough for me, fortunately i got a free license

Posted by: OldIronTits

No A/V on neither *.nix nor XP

My progression (over many years) was McAfee, Norton, RAV, TrendMicro, BitDefender, KAV, GDATA, Nod-32.

Hardware and software firewalls, Sandboxie, online virus scans, Hostsman, SpywareBlaster, and Opera, have kept me completely virus/malware free for 1.5+ years. Making good decisions may be the most important ingredient.

Posted by: aliEnRIK

None. Don't need one.

How do you work that out?

Posted by: forced

why Etrust not listed on this poll its great anti virus !

Posted by: saulin

people that say that don't need an antivirus and download illegal software are simply idiots. You can be very careful and you think you only download from reputable places and you know what you download but as long as you download illegal software on the net you will get infected. In fact, you could be infected, you just don't know it if you don't have a antivirus.

I have not been downloading anything and just looking for something and all of the sudden my AV comes up saying that a trojan was deleted. Just by visiting a website, so if I didn't have a antivirus then I guess I would get infected just by visiting a site.

Posted by: JGB

Nod32 ftw:)

Posted by: businesscredit

Before, I use Kaspersky but my friend recommend NOD32. I am satisfied now with my NOD32.

Before Kaspersky, I used NOD32.

definitely a convert to kaspersky. always been a fan of nod32 but im finding that kasper is picking up more stuff that nod missed.
Kaspersky has more false positives than NOD32.

Well let see I used Norton then MSN virus come around I tried Nod32 and that did no good..So a good friend told to use kaspersky.. so that work fablous and have not a problem since I used kaspersky.

Over three years old, this poll is surely out of date. What about starting a new one to make it more relevant?

What the matter Chewie u sound a little upset or tick off...this post about anti-virus and being 3 yrs old 30 yrs old it still good to give your 2 cents worth about anti virus programs...this what the tread for my good man.

I have been using F-Secure, because I get it for free from the work.

Posted by: xxNARCOxx

I use Bit Defender 2008. =)

Posted by: shadowking

Used to use NOD32, but now I use Kaspersky because it is better in terms of detection rates.

Posted by: ringoismynamo

I like NOD32....it just sits in the background doing its thing without fuss. I hate AV and Firewall programs that continually bug me with popups asking what I want to do next....

none, i just use firewall and have no problemos :D

Haha a firewall can't stop virures you download on cracked or some non scene software. You may think you have nothing because you don't have an antivirus. Believe me. I'm very good with security and I'm careful and even I have downloaded infected software but my AV has taken care of it. If I didn't have any AV on the other hand... I would have been infected a few times.

Posted by: Pudenry

Using ESET smart security and really liking it. Doesn't use huge amounts of system resources like a lot of other Anti-Virus programs.

NOD32 is the best for me.

None. I started out with Norton Internet Security, but that slowed my PC down like a bitch. Next I switched to McAfee, that was a lot faster, but after a few months it would start slowing down.

I ran AVG for a couple of months, and that was pretty good. What really annoyed me though was that it blocked a lot of keygens, and even after disabling AVG you could not open the keygen. So, I gave up. Now I have no AV.

That's not very smart. Especially if you pirate software.

Either get a better system dude or try Kaspersky or NOD32 which don't seem to affect performance on the systems I tried it on.

Also never install the full security suite. AV+Firewall+Antispyware+other crap. All you need is AV and a the windows firewall and the firewall on your router active. When you install all the crap security software comes with, they will make your PC crawl. Especially Norton and Mcafee. Also if you have Vista just disable that windows defender crap. It does slow your system down.

None installed. Don't need it. Never had a virus on this PC, never will. Although I do download an antivirus from time to time just to be sure. But I always uninstall it right away, as they tend to only see fake problems that aren't really problems (bad cookies, oh no, am I going to die now?).

Also, they tend to use too much of my PC processing power, which I really need for my music production. Mostly they don't even have a function to turn the damn thing off (really off). Some viruses they detect, but can't delete them for some lame reason. You got to do that manually or download an other program to fix it. And what's with the reports for all those so called viruses in keygens and stuff. I know there are none, they know, but they want to keep bugging you about it anyways.
