So if a computer starts buzzing when you start up and it stops after a while wheres the sound coming from? I'm thinking its the fans since my case for 60 bucks, came w/ 3 fans and a 420 watt power supply... any ideas?

Most likely a fan. You can stop one at a time with your finger to find out which one.

There may be a bee-hive inside.

Open it up and have a look.

stop it with my finger while its moving? Well, i took the fans out and put them on the floor and then started my computer and one of them started moving across the floor, would that be the one?

The buzzing fan would be the one making a buzzing sound. Put your ear near each in turn to find out.

Yes. They are very easy to stop. Just put you finger on the center hub.

Is that a common computer problem?

Sounds easy lol but the thing is it stops after a while, like if i turn on my computer and then it buzzes i shut it and then open my case and then turn on my computer it stops buzzing, I think it maybe 2 or 3 of the fans broken since i've taken out one fan before and it still buzzed, If i take the fans out of its rack it stops buzzing, so thats another werid thing once i put it back it starts buzzing again

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here.....
perhaps the mounts are making the noise?

It could be a plea for help from your old, tired hamster.

I'm surprised no one brought this possibility up already.

Or, it could be a fan.

I bet the bees are getting to him.

@linkin: nah, normally there are Ant-hills.

when I have that problem, its usually one of the fans in the power supply :(

I think I've found the problem.

lol u ppl n ur spam =D post whoresss, but anyways ummm if its the power supply fan that sucks lol but i thought it was the rack holdin the fan so i switched one of the fans and screwed it to the side panel (the fan that was moving), that seemed to lessen the sound a little but it still makes sounds

When it stops making a sound then you need to worry.

These are meant to be good for dealing with noisy case fans.

Those don't do anything unless the fan is poorly installed (loose) in the first place.

Those don't do anything unless the fan is poorly installed (loose) in the first place. They can prevent steel panels from picking up and amplifying harmonic vibrations, although they won't make the fan itself any quieter.
