You can't beat bittorrent, except for searching.... I went back to Emule to find something and it's great for searching but it takes so long to get anything! Have there been any improvements to p2p programs like emule? Something which produces the search results of emule but the speeds of bittorrent...?

Posted by: micolithe

BitTorrent, Soulseek and Limewire. Soulseek is server based but you can download whole CDs on it. Limewire is one of the standard ones where you search for a song and download it.

Posted by: timdh5

Limewires like kazaa isnt it? Simple and full of fakes. Do either of them give you search results like emule? Otherwise I won't bother with programs and just stick with bittorrent. Its just there are times when you need to search...

Posted by: ThemaNIL

DC++ (dcplusplus) is the program for you , she is very fast and have a very good search.

Posted by: micolithe

Limewire doesn't have many fakes. In fact, I've only gotten one fake off of LimeWire, and that was back when Vertigo by U2 just came out.

Posted by: ThemaNIL

never heard about LimeWire , does she fast ? (the downloads)

Well Limewire is defiantly better then Kazaa, doesn't have many fakes. Infact i have used Limewire for over 1 yr. now and haven't downloaded any fake file. So i guess Limewire is worth downloading stuff from.

But now days I'm really diggin Newsgroup, its extremly fast. You can find whatever you want.....and get crazy speeds.

Posted by: dmnyanks1

Emule all the way

Posted by: tiduseifer

I use ares for purely music downloads, never have once received a fake/bad song.
Unlike kazaa, ares doesn't have songs that cut out midway and turn into static.

Posted by: AOJ

BitTorrent Rules!!!!!

Posted by: Demonikus

I use Limewire for music and BitTorrent for pretty much everything else.

Posted by: Darkbooty

BitTorrent for everything for me.

Posted by: fsusr

BT & Bearshare

Posted by: daxianne

I've used BT for everything ever since I found it...if you want to get just a song, just use Azeurus, otherwise I like ABC.

Posted by: madden player

BitTorrent for everything for me.

Ditto ...

I'm a BitTorrent junkie .. I just started using newsgroups, so who knows, maybe I'll prefer newsgroups in the future ...

Posted by: EzioB

If I need a common song I heard on the radio I use Ares or Limewire. If I scene releases I use IRC and if I need anything else I use Bittorrent (which I just started using and I'm addicted to)

Posted by: tkpro

Newsgroups have everything, ( Zeros, Apps, Games , Xbox , Mp3, VCD , SVCD , DVDR )
and with Newshosting I get super fast d/l speeds. Haha no more seeding overnite.

Can't be beat by none of the above
Believe it

Posted by: skyclad05

just torrents here

Soulseek used to be good for music, but anymore it's to slow for searching IMO

DC++ for music also...Emule for programs

Posted by: Soul814

Posted by: ccs_dante

everibody talks about shareaza, but it seems that never worked to me.

Limewire surpasses the search results of Emule, and it is not full of fake files. I've never found a fake file any of these years I have used it. There are, however, JPG files with ads on them that turn up in the search, but why would you download those? Who downloads images from a P2P program?

Posted by: Dustin Timberleg

If you have broadband I would use Bit Tornado for bit torrent downloads, why download one song when you can get the whole album in 6 minutes. When you have the program installed just go to www.torrentspy.com or www.isohunt.com. Sharezza will download both torrent files and normal peer to peer but is not as fast for torrents I have found.

Posted by: griff2k4

Lately I have been using Limewire Pro for all my downloading needs, which has been mostly music. Not so great for programs.

Posted by: xpl0d

Emule ...to thoes who dont like 2 w8
use Isohunt an a good btclient.

Posted by: phate00

Shareaza for single files(MP3,ebooks,etc)DC++ for comics, complete albums and hard to find stuff,Azureus for Consolegames and bigger files

Posted by: zenonox

I've been using BitTorrent for a few weeks. Works fine most of the time, but if i leave it on overnight, I sometimes find in frozen up in the morning.

Posted by: evoke

Posted by: phantom_10

Posted by: Confluence

Slsk, far better than limewire in my humble opinion. I also use Bitcomet from time to time. My download activity recently has reduced quite a bit though.
