Overnet ?

Hi,
I have the new EDonkey client and the old Overnet client installed.
The new EDonkey client claims to connect to the old Overnet network and one of the ED servers.
If this is so then how come I can be downloading a file and if I keep swapping between the two clients, the old Overnet seems to download at twice the speed of the new ED client ?
I have been experimenting with this for months now, swapping between the two during the download of each file and ED can take 2 - 3 days for a movie and Overnet can do a movie in a night ?
I have then set up with the same, line speed etc. and I usually use Razorback for the ED server.
Any ideas on this one ?

yep same here, Old overnet clients are much faster than the newer edonkey versions

I have given up using the new Edonkey long ago.... the speed is simply too slow! Good thing I still have the old version of Overnet on my computer. At times speeds can be up to 135kb/sec using the old version. I thought that was not bad considering usual speeds of abt max 10kb for the new Edonkey!

I still use overnet 52 because it is still the fastest downloader

You can not use the one you get with a fresh install as it is too old.
I used to be able to get one from the Edonkey forum but that is not working.
Has anyone got a link for the list PLEASE!
& no i don't want to use edonkey or emule!

i had not used overnet in so long that my contact.dat was useless, so i fired up emule and did a search for contact.dat and downloaded them all until one worked to make overnet connect.
