I played the multiplayer demo ages ago with 2ghz, 9800 and 512 RAM and i could only play it smoothly on low...if i notched it up to medium i could play it, but if i started shooting it got laggy :(

i just played a bit of it. looks a lot like swat 4 and chronicles of riddick escape from butcher bay than doom 3. the shadows look gorgeous though. my 9800 pro barely pulls through with 40 fps with everything on max and 2x aa 2x af

9800pro here too, but I am getting great preformance. ;)
It really dosen't matter about what it looks like. Whats more important in this game, is the physics. Its simply amazing.

Same as you just no AA, no need really. I ran fraps and get about 50fps when outside, and 70fps inside.
and yea the demo is way to short :(

sweet jesus that was good :) can't wait for full version, and i agree with you guys, way too f'ing short like wtf man are they trying to make us go nuts? lol i'm getting pretty good performance but def. not what i expected, rite now i'm running on a 6800 but i'll have an x850 installed tomorrow-ish (it was already installed but it kept giving me problems, had to go change it). getting about 55 fps avg. everything on max and no AF or AA.

Well I haven't finished the demo since it closed on me right after I started climbing the ladder in the room where you first see the girl, so I can't really comment.
The intro and everything was okay. Wasn't too great. What was up with the font, it was like Half-life. And wtf was Gordon Freeman doing there lol - did anyone see that?
Anyways, guess I gotta finish playing to find out. I did have to put everything on off or minimal...need better vid card.

the ram wont do much except speed up the load times

the amount of system ram doesn't affect fps that much. it affects loading time and alt-tab time more

I figured out what made the game crash - anytime the helicopter showed up. So that sucked... does anyone want to buy me a new vid card?
dude, this is the first game I have ever played that spooked me. Damn that girl is scary. I wish I could play this at max specs to get everything... but I am definetly getting this.

watched all the demo's i could, interviews and such, game looks very very good, the amount of detail seemed beyond belief. the system specs are pretty high up there, but the way it looks it's more than worth it. i wish i could play the demo, but this computer wouldnt have a chance in hell, i installed the demo just to see, if it would even boot. after i installed, i had about 800mbs of free space and system was already slowing down considerably. went to load game and got about 3 error's back to back. needless to say i took that as a sign of things to come and uninstalled it. still got 2 months, maybe i'll scape something up by then, would love to have this game. if anyone here who played it makes a video of themselves playing it, that'd be awesome, wanna know why that little girl is so scary.

Are you kidding? I thought the AI was amazing! The first encounter with the enemies, this guy actually jumped through the window to get a better shot at me, then later a shelf got knocked down blocking one guy's path, and he actually got down and crawled underneath it. I dunno about you, but i've never seen AI characters ever do that in any game i've played.

always room for improvement, Like when there fighting they scream out things that are not in place, like U shoot his buddy and it's him just alone and he still screaming "take cover" or "he's over there" and i dont know about you but talking to yourself isnt very fun :).

the ai does seem quite impressive, lets hope they optimize the game a bit better, because the graphics arnt anything more than half life 2's and it runs far far better

Well if the wall is concrete it is a possability but i find it doesnt "always" make a huge hole in the wall. i just thought me pistol had exploding bullets :(.
but the engine does seem a little slugish.. hopefully they will optimize this before final release?

Its a game, its not suppose to be relaistic. Oviouly it isnt, and its trying to do the matrix effect, trying to build up excitement. Its fun when you shoot everyone, particals are everywhere, blood sprays, and chunks of the wall is tooken off.

and as to shooting a gun in real life and testing it to a computer game..
they both are out of picture, one is real one is fake, you cant compare.

could be dependent on how close you are to the wall. what type of wall you are shooting. ricochets? what type of gun? maybe they gave you this one big bullet as a headhunter tool, pop off the first shot and BOOM!! off goes their head. hollow points???ok im out of ideas, and i really need to play this game...fuck!

i wasn't expecting it to scare me. i watched the grudge (japanese) this weekend and i tried to be scared and just found it boring. i played the demo of this and actually screamed at one point (the bit when you turn round on that ladder). scary games>scary movies and this is probably the scariest game i've ever played

Game was okay, had it running on good settings. Still, I'm bored to death of FPS games though :(

when i watched the demo being played through on gamespot, i was like "oh shit" when the girl appeared behind you when you were going down the ladder. im trying to build a computer solely for this game, and it's a stretch to say the least, cause it's so graphic intense.
