Stopped using an antivirus over a year ago. My browser is highly secured, and I have Sandboxie for testing things. They're not 100% bulletproof, but so far so good.

I do on my main downloading PC, but I don't on the HTPC/wife's photo editing computer, nor my netbook. I haven't had any problems so far (past couple years), but if someone is careless, they can make a mess of things in a hurry.

I sold one of my used computers to a guy, and part of the deal was that I'd give him tech support for a year. I told him to install AV software immediately. He didn't, and called me the next day saying something was "wrong" and wanted me to take a look at it. I spent 5 hours straight removing TONS of stuff (from a fresh install) including many that had to be removed with special tools. I got it completely clean, but told him we were even. I would have just done a re-install if I had known how long it would take to go the route I did, but didn't because I had included quite a few programs that were of interest to the guy.

    Fuk'n people...

I use ESET, fast and least resource heavy.

    I use Avira.
I did go for a whole year "Bareback" with no problems.

I tend to wonder if AV programs area needed these days.

But I am going to ditch Avira as I am sick of their daily spam.
I am going to give in and install MSE.
