I think all ISPs will go out of biz, the internet will only excisit in highly secure internet cafes(with security guards) and we would have to type in our Social Security number to log into a government server to browse a few very secure websites which only have news and stuff. Everything will be highly monitered also.

coffee? i want some coffee.

i think the internet will eventually be super high speed, as with computers which will continue to get faster and load pages in .13 seconds etc.
cost of internet will eventually come down, but something better may come out like..

telephone->cordless telephone->cell phone
Cassetes->records(or other way around?)->cd's->minidiscs (we're still making the transition)
TV(black&White)-> color tv->w/ cable & satellite

so who knows... :huh:

I think it's interesting that it only took four posts to get porn into the future of the internet.

I don't ever remember Spock dl'ing "Debbie Does Dallas" or R2D2 broadcasting holographic playbacks of the honeymoon of Princess Leia and Jabba the Hut.

Just goes to show that those Hollywood guys don't know SH*T!

For a well concieved and thorough vision of how computer technology may shape the future, read the works of William Gibson or Bruce Sterling.

They are probably closer than Gene Roddenberry or George Lucas.

Make it so.

The internet will be like anything else. Just like the telephone.

No matter how fast it will always be, somebody will complain how slow it is.

I'm very happy with the speed of my telephone.

I tried a new digital service which was much faster, but had to switch back.

Everyone sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks... :blink:

People are working on sending smells via the internet, that will be very interesting.
