mos def -- black on both sides
talib kweli & DJ hitek -- reflection eternal
public enemy -- it takes a nation of millions to hold us / fear of a black planet / he got game / revolverlution
slick rick -- the great adventures of slick rick
gravediggaz -- 6 feet deep
de la soul -- 3 feet high and rising
dr octagon -- dr octagonecolygyst
brotha lynch hung -- season of da siccness
the coup -- steal this album
X Clan -- Xodus / to the east, blackwards
westside -- westside
chuck D -- the autobiography of mistachuck

...well, that'll keep you going for a while! HOpefully others will add more essential hip-hop albums.

Take a look at this (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=28&t=24998) topic - some good stuff on their, along with some not so good stuff.

Reply on it if you like, that topic could do with a bump ;)

edit: nice list by the way - have a listen to Mos Def & Talib Kweli - Black Star. And if you've got a list like that to share, consider coming over to Soulseek once in a while - we could do with some more hip hop fans over there.
