Why do some programs require invites? What's the point?

Do they have something that BitComet doesn't?

pisexy isnt a program it a tracker/bit torrent community.
you use bit comet when you get there
the invites are given as a reward to users for sharing
when you hear the signups are open
you dont need to get an invite you just visit the site and signup
when you begin to download from the tracker your ratio will go down and you will be classed as a leecher, keep seeding and your ratio will go up
remember to upload the same amount as you download :)

It's not a program. These are "closed" torrent sites. You can only register when someone proposes you to the site as an oké guy/girl ;)

well just to late with my answer :P

pisexy is not a program, it is a tracker where you find .torrents for download. The invite system is supposed to keep leechers away.

It's not a program.

I know I know, just sleepy and being lazy. So basically it's supposed to be a way to invite reputable people to a community instead of it being a leecher free for all? Got it. Makes sense in theory I guess.

yeah you need some rules otherwise it would be a leecher free for all!
ever heard of the carrot and the stick?
