Do the mods have any clue what has become of them? Have we been hacked again?

Can you help?

tesco

Not sure, doing a search only turns up 3 posts.
When did it get that way?

I don't know. Just noticed it after his post.

Can you retrieve them from a recent back up?

tesco

How many should there be.

We're trying ti investigate this and find out what has happened to make them disappear.

Well, thanks, and good luck with it, Rossco. J2 shouldn't have to put up with that, and I am sorry this has happened. :(

We can't figure out how these posts could have disappeared but we'll be restoring them from a backup tommorrow. :)

No idea when they went missing, but most likely before his oldest post which was yesterday.

Nice one.

What about the security issue, this is at least the fifth time that this has happened.

Has j2 moved so far to the right that he fell out of the server again?

I'm still not seeing any j2 posts at all.

It seems I've deleted all j2's posts again. Minutes after they were restored.

Joking aside. Whoever is doing this could probably delete the whole board several times a day, if the mood took them.

I think a look at the inherent security of this VB board is in order. This kind of thing is no good at all.

Agreed. I`m never gonna get my five stars if they delete more of my posts.

Sure it's a security issue and not just corrupted data on that account due to the switch to VB (or any other non-security related reason)?

I don't think it's a random thing.

Didn't know it'd happened to anyone else.

It just seems odd that whoever's doing it doesn't do anything more destructive.

j2k4's user id has been manually changed to stop the posts from disappearing as well as all passwords changed to keep out any unwanted people.

Posts are on the way to being put back... (takes me a while to upload them).

edit: btw, incase he didn't realise, can someone who talks to him outside of the forum let him know he can find his new password in his email.

manker
08-21-2005, 11:50 AM
I don't think altering j2's userID will do anything, it's not like this problem is specific to him. JP has has his deleted twice - many are still missing.

I seem to remember that all the passwords for admin server access and the admin's own passwords were changed last time too.

This is inadequate. Clearly.

There is no new password in my e-mail; I've gotten three of your notes about "requesting a new password", only one of which I sought (the last one) just to try it, but it was rejected due to duplicate info.

You may try me under the address attached to this account if you like, although I can't promise to remember to check it, as it's new...

BTW-it's j2 here, in case that's not clear.

How can we be sure, the new password could be sent to anyone.

Your a damn podperson..is what you are.

Bring back the real Kevin and that Irish rabbit that hasn't been here in awhile.

You are just one a doze TDR Body Snatchers. GTFO!!

(if dis be da real Kev, my bad*)

*ghetto apology. Also known as "my fault". Example, if one accidentely knocks another's eye out of it's socket during horseplay, the apology would be...."my fault" and play would resume.

We both decided it was generally blue.
