XviD Converter?

Anyone know of a good app to convert XviD movies to SVCD, or something of that type? I don't have a DVD burner. :pinch:

You could try dvd2svcd which also converts avi's to mpeg2 or SVCD. Bummer not having the dvd burner, but this app (which is free) will split it into 2 or 3 cd's as necessary. You do need an mpeg2 encoder, CCE SP 50 or the trial version can be used here as can TMPG. Look at doom9 forums for info as there is a bit involved, espcially the resizing to svcd fromat as mpeg4 files can be different sizes.

If you are doing this to play them on a standalone, there are a good few inexpensive models that will play divX/Xvid provided they have no GMC/Qpel or aren't OpenDML.

Do bear in mind that re-encoding will result in a loss of quality. Also, for svcd compliance, you'll need to convert the audio to mp2.

Hello. Is there anyone that know how to convert avi files to mpeg that can burn in vcd? What software that good to use besides from TMPGe? PLease help me. I try some trial version but it has a watermark. Is there any version that has no watermark?

I would second that DVD2SVCD is a great converter when used in conjunction with CCE encoder.

This version converts AVI to VCD, SVCD, and..KVCD.
