Yalla, does anyone know which site is the better for getting independant music. I've heard from several people that Oink is the way to go nowadays.

I'm new to the whole torrent soceity thing and have been using the non-secret society sites like TorrentBox and isoHunt. Recently those two sites haven't been getting the uploads they used to. I also got some wierd virus that displayed these aura pop ups from one of those torrent sites, which I wasn't too stoked on. So I've been forced to look even deeper and started hearing about Oink and Indietorrents.

Welcome to the board.

I'm not a member at Indietorrents but Oink is teh roka - for all types of music, not just Indie.

There really is no comparison between a specialist music torrent site, like Oink, and a generic public tracker like the two you mention if you're looking for specifically for music. Oink has a request section which you can use as many times as you like. I've got a fair few rare albums thro' using it.

You'll need an invite tho - and I've recently given my last away in this thread (http://www.filesharingtalk.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=93348&goto=lastpost) (you'll need 10 posts before you request an invite, btw).

Yeah I found out the differance between the public trakcers, it took a while. I was origanally drawn to this site looking for an Oink invite, but found out I couldn't post, tahnks for the info on the 10 posts.

I actually like what I see here and have posted to some threads I really like.

Oink is way better in my opinion, and I also came here to trade invites (I have alot of them), but just found out I have to wait a month for that.

Oink I hear is pretty good. Xenon, I feel ya man. The wait is too long, but its understandable. :frusty:
