After so so so much talking and dealing between Fox and Microsoft, an agreement has been reached (5 million plus 10% gross), Halo the movie is gonna be hitting the big screen in the summer of 2007 :01:

Master Chief is gunning for the bigscreen in summer '07. Fox and Universal have closed their deal to make a movie based on Microsoft's hit vidgame "Halo," with plans for a tentpole in two years. Studios will pay the tech giant $5 million against 10% of the gross....

same here, one the things I immediately noticed is that it's targeted to have an R rating, thank god for that. I don't want this masterpiece turning out to be another AvP :dry: . Atleast with an R rating in mind, the creators won't have too much of a restriction...but at the end of the day, it's all about profits so who knows? Fox can really fuck us over (i'm hoping to god they don't).

No, I very much doubt it. They'll probably just hire some one to play out MC in his suit, and do the voiceover using the same guy that actually does MC in the games.

i wanna see thier suit version. i've seen fanmade suits and they looked decent, i cant wait to see what the actual designers will help make in real life. 2007 is a ways off tho, oh well. hopefully it lives up to the game, which are pretty big shoes in itself.

Apparently Halo 3 is coming out same time as the movie (2007, so it's prob. not gonna come out same week as PS3 as speculated). I'll post the link in a bit.

i think its going to be lame.but halo is awesome...just too many different aliens they would have to create i dno if they could do it...You're worried about how many aliens they can fit in the movie? I'm more worried about the action sequences and the storyline. I don't have high expectations so I wont be dissapointed, but it will be a decent movie to download and watch

No, you're all wrong. The movie is based mostly on the books (a good 90%), Fall of Reach, The Flood and First Strike (pretty good books actually). So it's more of a book adaption, and for those ppl who say that the books are based on the game, it's only the name that has any similarity, the books are much much better than the game and the storyline is actually pretty damn good.

i agree with the opinion that the books were good. if they movie is based on that it'd be great. it'd be nice to see other spartans then it pan over to mc alone, then back to fellow members again only to watch 1 rise where many once stood. be interesting to see how they make this come to life.

Exactly. I really enjoyed "The fall of Reach", it was a damn good book. The flood is basically Halo (1). "First Strike" was awesome, if they could base the movie on either The fall of Reach or First Strike, the movie would be a success, and if they could make it based on all 3 books (unlikely), it would be a damn good movie IMO.
