I'm think of buying a new motherbroad, because I don't like my current one.
My current motherbroad doesn't have a PCI-E or AGP slot. I don't know what to look for in a motherbroad. I want something mainly for games. The price range i'm hoping to buy is somewhere from $100-$500 CAD.

What should I look for when buying a motherbroad?

Thanks

Are you also thinking of replacing your processor?

Because if not, that's going to be the deciding factor in your replacement and possibly whether it is even worthwhile, so you need to tell us what it is.

If you are replacing your processor, then you need to tell us what memory you've got because you may need to replace that too.

Are we supposed to be able to mind read your system spec. Also you want to spend $100 to replace your mobo because you don't like it. Why?

$100 to $500 Cad . for a new mobo ? You could buy a new computer for $500 w/monitor. If I'm not mistaken you sound like like you want to upgrade to a gaming machine ? Like Lynx says you might have to replace more than just the mobo, then you 'll need new memory , cpu ,case ,psu, the video card etc. Good luck . Might be better to sell your old one or keep as a spare .

I used my old parts hdd, memory, cdr , etc. when I upgraded then bought the high end vid card. . As preezy suggests post your specs. :)

You know I was being harsh, you know you need to upgrade for the games . Can you do it your self or have a friend that can help ? Use this program or one like it to show your specs.

What cpu so you have? if you want to buy primarily for games you would have to buy motherboard with decent processor and a good graphic card..i would recommend Amd based pc for Gaming,..For us $ 100 you would get a decent mainboard with nforce 4 chipset, for U.S. $ 250 you can get amd 64 3500 and for U.S. 200 you can get geforce 6600 for a decent game performance....
