Now how would I go about removing those left over icons?

Santa

just grab and drop them onto the desktop
watch them explode
or
in configuration remove icons

No, not the icons from the dock. Those are fine, customized every single one myself.

I meant the icons on my desktop, My Computer, My Documents, etc. I can't delete the My Computer icon.

How about...

Start>Run>type: gpedit.msc
+-User Configuration
-+-Adminisrative templates
-+-Desktop>Hide and disable all items on the desktop.

Anyway to do it without editing the registry?

Strange. In mine it shows:

Requirements:
At least Microsoft Windows 2000

Removes icons, shortcuts, and other default and user-defined items from the desktop, including Briefcase, Recycle Bin, My Computer, and My Network Places.

Removing icons and shortcuts does not prevent the user from using another method to start the programs or opening the items they represent.

Whoops didn't even see this post, found it, and enabled it. Refreshing the desktop still didn't make the icons go away, so let me try rebooting...

Object Dock should have an option to remove the taskbar.

Rip The Jacker
08-25-2005, 02:12 AM
Yup. ObjectDock lets you hide the taskbar in the options.

Install it, then head over to WinCustomize.com, there around hundreds or high quality icons for ObjectDock.
