Lacrosse is Canada's national sport ! Rough game too where I'm from its well supported ,what question did you have ? This is sportsworld so ask away thats how you learn about different sports . :)




On the Aussie football I see a Nfl team signed an aussie placekicker . Thats intersting eh ? They say his punt is so different than what the American's are use to , its higher and spins end over end making it hard to catch. Ben Graham is his name .

Ben Graham is his name .Sorry, all I know about Lacrosse is that it's fairly popular in posh private girls' schools in the UK.

Wrt Ben Graham, it's interesting to note that he turned down the NY Jets in 1997, preferring to stay in the more rewarding (not financially - by a long chalk) AFL (Australian Football League).

He said yes at the age of 32 because his body wasn't up to the rigours of AFL any longer so he decided to take the easy option. His mate, (fellow Aussie NFL punter) Darren Bennett, said of the position - "its a great gig if you can get it".


It's difficult, for me, to imagine a position in a team game which requires one only to kick the ball a long way on average of four or five times a game. It makes more sense to train one of the other players to do it.

A rugby team has at least 7 players who are capable of performing this task, what's the point in having a player in the squad just to kick the ball out of hand when the team is in trouble.

However, in other sports you don't see a specialist (for example) freethrower come on in basketball, or a specialist throw-in taker in soccer, or a specialist goal-kicker take the field each time a kick at goal is required.

No, the players that perform this task are already on the field and have other all-round skills.

They hold the ball while the kicker kicks for goals. Woo.


However, the kicker is also a specialist position and he might only get to lay boot on leather a few times a game too.

I used to play lax in college, its such an awsome game. The ball used to leave huge welts all over my body. It's made from like solid rubber.

It was actually invented by the Irquois Nation, to settle disputes over land instead of killing each other. It's real popular on the east coast where those Indians originated the game. It's gaining popularity throughout the West. I think my old high school just started a team. It means "Little Brother of War" in french.

It is funny manker, because most kicker's don't look like athletes at all . I think its one of those positions that requires nerves of steel mabye ? I think what always impressed me was the last play of the game with 30 mile winds, the kicker puts it thru the uprights for the win .

Ben Graham is know for his athleticism mabye he can help change that .

Its not a game for wimps, brutal hits lots of fighting aswell . :) Just like Hockey .

For some reason people in Lacrosse never fight. I think it's because you've got full helmets on. In hockey they're always throwin' down. But in football (americano) and Lax you never see fights, if you do they're ridiculus, cause how much damage can you do to someone with a helmet and pads on. If you take you're hat off, you're just asking to get laid out.

Hockey fighting is just acceptable. You do get to wack people with aluminum sticks though, which can be fun if you're a defender with a long pole. Sometimes, when we played agianst shitty teams I would use a wooden stick for the extra pain involved.
