Good find peat!!!

I always go to the season openers and closer of the Caps (sometimes more). I think I'll hit more games now.

Most noticable is the fact there will be no more ties and the goalie is restricted more.

It's also smart that they are enacting these changes after the lockout. Fans will be rabid just to see hockey.

Ya my sons and I can't wait for it to start , hope they stick to their guns about the clutching and grabbing clamp down tho . It should be like football (NFL & CFL ) no holding or you get a penalty .

@ Busyman, the nice thing is ,ever team is undefeated this time of year . :)

@maeach , Sure would be fun to see the Penguins on the power play all the time eh ?

Oh ya something about this :

Next season, the emphasis will be on division and conference play. Teams will face division opponents six times instead of the current five. Nondivisional conference opponents will play each other four times, and there will be 15 interconference games.

I hope the Penguins do well, I really felt sorry for LEmieux the last few years. No matter what, I have to support the team of Ontario. Toronto Maple LEafs.

Big Red Wings fan here and I am a bit dissapointed looking at this schedule for the upcoming season.

NO Toronto?!?! NO Boston?!?! That is just outrageous if you ask me. Those use to be some of the biggest games I would gear up for each year.

Where's the original 6 weeks?

Also, we only get Philly and NY Rangers once?!?:censored:

The Wings play Nashville, Columbus, and Anaheim just about every other game. Yeah yeah, I know those teams are in our conference. The only reason those teams are around is because of teams like the Red Wings and how much publicity they receive on every year.

Its pretty bad when you can't even sell out playoff games.

Best thing the NHL should have done: Contracted Nashville, Columbus, Atlanta, and freaking Carolina.

Hell, throw Florida and Tampa Bay in while you're at it. No one even goes to their games either! :nono:

When's the last time a pond froze in Florida?

Get rid of the dead weight, the anchors holding the league down and lowering the skill level, and let's make this league exciting again.

Don't put franchises in citys that don't even watch hockey, just because someone will pay the league millions in franchise fees.:frusty:

I don't like seeing the goalies restricted. But the other rule changes I'm cool with. As long as there's no shootout for the playoffs.
