Remember in the 80s when the space shuttle exploded? It took about a week before that infamous Need Another Seven Astronauts (NASA) was born.

In the 90s, it took about one day for jokes about the OJ Simpson murder to be produced.

And how can we forget the good ol pope

When do you think jokes about Hurrican Katrina will be born?

I know that I find events like 9/11, the tsunami, and hurricanes absolutely hilarious

Take it easy Hank, some people use laughter to cope.

Its a "laugh or cry" thing.

Shame that New Orleans rebuilding will be of concrete though.. A lot will be lost.

I always wanted to visit the place for the atmosphere, and I fear much of that will disappear now, with a huge split between those that left and the urban poor that were left to fend for themselves :(

Grand Theft Auto: New Orleans.

In this game you play as a black dude and things you can do are:

- looting
- rapping women
- snipping people
- shooting at rescue helicopter
- AND participate in total anarchy.

I guess the obvious one is something like

"Hurricane Katrina blew into New Orleans and caused billions of dollars of improvements to the surrounding area"

Q: WHY ARE HURRICANES NORMALLY NAMED AFTER WOMEN?

A: WHEN THEY COME THEY'RE WILD AND WET, BUT WHEN THEY GO, THEY TAKE YOUR HOUSE AND CAR WITH THEM

Bit general, but you get the idea

Ok fine, here's some jokes...

Q. Why did the Evangelical Christians leave New Orleans?
A. Because the dykes were already broken.

Q. Why did so many alcoholics go to New Orleans?
A. Because they heard there were plenty of wet bars.

Then Katrina and the Waves came to town.

Mayor Nagin has categorically denied rumours that Mardi Gras will be cancelled.

In fact, he is expecting a record number of floats.

A: He really doesn't care how people get out of New Orleans.

-------------------

You are in Florida, Miami to be specific. There is chaos all around you
caused by a hurricane with severe flooding.

This is a flood of biblical proportions.

You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught
in the middle of this epic disaster.

The situation is nearly hopeless.

You're trying to shoot career-making photos.

There are houses and people swirling around you...some disappearing under the water.

Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris.

You move closer...somehow the man looks familiar.

You suddenly realize who it is.

It's George W. Bush!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him
under...

Forever.

You have the two options:

1 You can save the life of G.W.Bush,

or

2 You can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the
death of one of the world's most powerful men.

So here's the question, and please give an honest answer:

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

Rat Faced
09-19-2005, 03:58 PM
Colour, obviously.

You can also get Black and White later from the colour, however you will never get a decent Colour Image from Black and White film :snooty:

good observation there
for the sake of practicality of course
