Help with computer cable hdd Cable

Ok My computer came with 1 hdd cable and 3 connectors on it. Does it go from mobo to hardrive to cd rom? And would it matter or does the color have to match color because if I use color to same color it doesn't reach.

AFAIK it doesnt matter....

Get a second cable.

Use one for the HDD and the other for the optical drive.

The connector at the end all by itself plugs into the motherboard.

The other end connector is for the Master.

The middle connector is for the Slave.

If you set the jumpers of the HDD and the Optical drive to Cable select and connect each to the end of their own cable then they will both be Master.
