if you have cs1.6 or any legit account with any other valve games, you can play CSS with a program like Steam-down... or you could get non steam down, which allows you to play on a cracked server with any account with no cd key.

Ya, seriously. What's with the cheapasses these days? Yes, this is a filesharing forum, but that doesnt mean we encourage you to download EVERY game that comes out, especially ones that can't be played unless bought (you can try steam-down, good luck getting it working tho). HL2 is worth the money.

go buy this. one problem some "kids" have is that their parents don't want them buying games. so don't! go on ebay, and search around for legit hl2/css cd keys. no shipping charge. just buy the key, download steam, and it'll automatically download the game files. i did that for guild wars.

everyone just sort of forgets that not everyone here is working or has parents who want to buy games.

Then get a job, and if your parents don't want you to play the game im sure they have a good reason, either that or the fact that you're not legally old enough to buy the game yourself. Just because you can download the game and break that law, doesn't mean you should break the age laws, as they have a purpose.

Contradicting youself there dont ya think? But ya, to those ppl who cant afford it ummm why not get off ur lazy ass print out a resume and get a job, you dont need to have work experience, if that was mandatory in EVERY SINGLE JOB APPLICATION, then no one would ever start working.

Not at all, downloading a file will not teach you how to swear, do drugs, kill people or do anything a person of your age shouldn't do. Playing/watching a file that is an 18 when your 11 years old could warp your tiny little mind.

getting a job shouldn't be that hard. hell, just drop by a diner or something. they'll prob employ u even if ur not 15. to work at a large company or store, u normally have to be 16 or 18. or u can always mooch $30. it's not that expensive

I second that 100%. Yes, I pirated all sorts of shit, but games that have tightass security, and not to mention games that are that kickass, deserved to be paid for.

Its not so easy to get jobs elsewhere. I live in NYC and I've been looking for a job for a year and I'm 17. I've been calling ALOT of places and the only way you can actually work off the books is if you have connections, so its not so easy to get a job.

Yea just buy the fuckin game. I buy all good online games that deserve to be bought (ex ut2004). I did get the steam bronze pack with the purchase of my cpu tho for free. :D

It looks like u can afford a pretty damn good pc. I can understand how u might not want to pay for $50 a game tho. It all adds up. :frusty:

i've only bought 3 games in the last 9 years:
-doom 2
-Guild Wars
-Battlefield 2

not a lot of $$ for 9 years of gaming
adds up to about $80 ($20 for doom 2, $30 for guild wars, $32 for bf2)

i got my hl2/css key from my irish homie. he plays hl2 deathmatch, and i play css. he's my man

lol, irish homie. Ya you could do what abu does, just get someone to share their account w/ u that lives half way across the world so you can be playing when they're asleep and vice versa.

Lol my parents bought me the computer parts but I have to pay them back about $800 worth of computer parts once I get a job so yeah, I can't really afford games.

Then don't buy it simple. That means you cant' download either since it's not gonna work. Just find a job, get your 1st paycheque and give the money to ur rents but keep 60 bucks for ur self (for hl2).

abu_has_the_power
09-14-2005, 03:03 AM
u can buy hl2 online for around $30. dude, can u do tutoring? or babysitting? lots of money to be made in those fields

cpt_azad
09-14-2005, 08:10 AM
ya, go babysit for a week, ur guaranteed at least a 100 bucks.

Yeah well as I have been saying, I've been looking for jobs for the past year. And I already have HL2. I'm speaking up for the kids who aren't able to get jobs. Its not so easy for everyone to get a job. The suggestion for tutoring is impossible for some people because not everyone is smart enough to tutor another person.
