can you see rivals outside cities on WoW. it's the only thing i don't like about guild wars. when i played FFXI i was in a battle between about 50 monsters and 15 players because someone ran round a forest provoking everything than run them to the city gates :01:

No, not unless you've formed a party with your rivals in it while inside a town.

i haven't played this game since august. i should start playing again

Monkeee

Everything, lol i dont get what exactly your suppose to do. Do you just quest and level?

abu_has_the_power

there's 2 parts to it. the normal game, or u can jump right to the pvp. problem with that is you won't get the best skills and spells unless you unlock them in the story mode.
u start out in the "pre-searing" city. talk to the people with the ! over them, and just form a party and go questing. after a few quests the city will get destroyed by rocks. that's "post-searing". and u do more quests. then you start doing missions. every mission has a bonus mission that will reward you with something like skills or exp or items or $$ if you complete it along with the regular mission. just grind through the quests and missions. that'll keep u busy for a few weeks. the story will end, and then u can play some over again or go into pvp arenas and pwn other players.

take a look at this:
http://manual.guildwars.com/

also, you can download the prima official guild wars guide. it should be around 50 mb. look around on torrent sites. it's kinda old, but i'm sure u can still find it

lol holy crap thanks a lot!

BTW, What are your professions? I chose Ranger/Elemental.... not sure if that's good..

silent h3ro
12-26-2005, 01:03 AM
Me too!!! :D It's my first proffesion so I'm unsure too. My friend told me starting out as a Ranger as a primary profession would be a good start.

abu_has_the_power

ranger's a great support profession. elemental is more of the nuker class. nuker = most damage
probably with selecting elemental as a sub-profession is that u don't get the elementals best attribute: energy or mana. elemental as a main profession has more mana than any other class, and you can increase your mana as you level up. no one else can do that. you shoud've done elemental/ranger. but u can always play around to find the best combo

i started as elemental/monk. self-sustaining nuker. a nuker can also be warrior/elemental or warrior/ranger or warrior/mesmer. elemental/mesmer does the most damage in the game, but unless someone covers ur ass, you'll die pretty fast

u need to get the prima guide. it's got everything

Monkeee

lol damn your right, i always find myself losing mana pretty quickly!

i just started playing this 2 months ago. i'm currently a lvl 12 warrrior/monk. game started off GREAT! now, it's starting to drag. i'm used to console rpg's where u do lots of leveling and u have 15-30 min boss fights. after that u get some story cg scenes. here, u just quest, quest, quest. meaningless running back and forth quests. not sure how much longer i will play this. meh.
