I was looking at a shirt today that had the soviet hammer and sickle on it, and i was wondering what it means...should i buy it?

he hammer and sickle is a symbol used to represent Communism and Communist political parties.




It features a large sickle superimposed on a hammer. The two tools were chosen as symbols of the working class, symbolising how the different professions were united in their struggle for a worker's utopia.

The hammer and sickle featured prominantly on the flag of the Soviet Union, and the flags of all satellite countries that made up the Soviet Empire.

It continues to be used in surviving Communist countries, such as Vietnam and People's Republic of China.

Well I have studdied communism in class for a few weeks, it sounds like a utopian society, but I guess it sux bawls in real life. My mum just called me and told me she bought it for me, so i guess im wearing it now lol.

Its red and white, the shirt is faded to give it that "garage" look. It looks good anyway.

Well, I guess it was intended to be, but it just never quite worked out that way... ;)

The hammer and sickle is an interesting symbol though...
