My question is, is there anything wrong with 2 different brands? Is having that older version slowing me down alot? Any tips or advice please tell me.

Ok Eric. The PC2700 @ 333MHz is slowing things down.

I would suggest you remove them and use only the 1 gig Corsair Value Select @ 400MHz.

Be sure to put them in the correct slots for Dual Channel mode if your board supports it.

Why would anyone need two gig's of memory anyway ?

Ok a gig and a half but still . :pinch:

Last year 1GB was "high-end"...this year it takes two (or more) to be a BigDawg.
Memory has gotten cheaper and faster lately (try some Patriot brand for overachieving "value RAM") and the new gen of a64 CPUs coupled with the NF4 chipset can actually handle that amount efficiently, so why not?

I have no idea what imasoldier's reasoning is.

Your right , I guess I'm just an old fart . Memory prices are a pain in the ass up down, up again when you have extra money .
