I hate this becuase i like using firefox but when going back it takes forever in ff but like less than a sec in IE.

I like using FF more but it feels so mcuh better to use IE. I hope that 1.5 fixes this becuase its so annoying

they're still on 1.0 so theres lots more improvements to come. Another thing is IE is optimized for windows I guess so maybe it works more efficiently? since MS makes the OS and the browser.

Not for a few months yet . Funny because IE seems slow to me but FF is fast . But there are tweaks and tricks to speed up FF here on these pages , search for a few .

u can change e settings man, google it firefox tweaks, firefox doesnt want to slow ur com down, so if u hav lots of memory, then u can change e disk cache, memory cache size such it loads e previous page from the memory cache or disk cache

FireTune (http://www.totalidea.com/freestuff4.htm) will do all of those "about:config" tweaks with one button click.
For the timid or lazy it works perfectly.

That said, I've just switched from FF to Opera and it is significantly faster than any other browser I've tried.
Still getting a grip on the config settings, but I think Opera is a keeper.

I have done more firefox tweaks then you can count on the fingers of everyone in the whole world. Firefox still seems slower to me, not to mention it doesnt display alot of web pages/media/jesus correctly. I have tried to give it a chance, Ive gotten used to it now, by removing the IE icon from the desktop, forcing me to use firefox, but I find myself wavering back to IE on ocassion. The only thing I really like about Firefox, is that it saves passwords and everything, but if someone got on my windows name, they could get into anything I wanted so I guess it is good and bad.. I just find IE much better, but am forcing myself to use Firefox and give it a chance, even though I have found no real reason to, using it for over a year now.

Firefox seems slower for me, but I use it anyway for the tabbed browsing and adblock. I hope they speed it up a bit :)

It seems like firefox connects back to the site when you click the back button, i'm not sure why tho as it doesn't update any information
IE just loads the last page right from the cache.

I think my only complaint is I cant use Windizupdate with Opera and wish I could import my bookmarks from Firefox .

Has anyone tryed the built in Opera mail client ?
I'll continue to try both but yeppers Opera is faster and only crash I'v had was the windizupdate site .

You can import bookmarks. When in in firefox, export them to a .htm file and import that in Opera

I've been using Opera recently and will probably stay with that.

I'm waiting for the newest IE7 beta to try that.

FF is not worth the time and many of features including tabbed browsing, I've had with add-ons to IE6.

I think Opera going free now (without ads) will overtake FF.

Opera is a great web browser. I use it along with FireFox.. As to which is faster, well some say one is faster while others say the other is faster..

As for Maxthon (as posted eariler) its just a front end for IE. It has the IE core and therefore isnt really a "different" brower.. And no, I dont think it "pwns firefox".

 yeah it has it's faults just like anything, but still a decent browser
didn't know it went freeware all the way,
I still have a not-so-free version from a while back :D
may have to visit Opera's site and check it out

and as to wether or not IE or FF is faster......
fuck speed, I stayed with FF for security ;)

I use OperaGet & can use any of a half dozen or more dl managers. I use Net Transport with Opera. Works perfect. Opera imo is the best of the 3 by far. :01:
