Do you ever buy something on the spur of the moment that just had to be bought?

I just bought this off Ebay.... Ain't it pretty though?

Didn't you already buy a bike a few weeks ago?

And to answer the questions, no and no.

I impulse purchased a new car on Monday. When I say new I mean out of the wrapper, brand new.

Went in to price a service on me current car, asked the chap what he would give me on mine as a trade in. Asked if there were any offers on the go and got a deal I fancied.

To be honest I didn't sign the order till Tuesday, but the deal was already done in principal on the Monday evening.

Jeez Sara.

I applaud your impulsiveness.
Also your luck.

Imagine the odds of being present when the Time Warp opened and a 40 year old bike drops out.

Astronomical, I'd wager.

Its a 1978 bike actually......not quite 40 years old yet.

@ J2k4....no silly, they don't make em like they used to which is why I bought it!

@ JPaul...Bloody hell, I thought I was impulsive but you beat me....soooooo what ya bought then?

@ Busyman.....:raspberry: Some people have no taste and it aint me :snooty:

I'm not knocking your buy though even if it's an ugly one.

I mean you can't beat that. That bike was a steal at 10 pounds.

....well....now that I think of it....you might have overpaid...just a tad.

RHD obviousement.

We've got the big car so I like a wee (cheap to run) one for going to work and nicking about in.

I got the metallic black, with CD

i'm surprised it wasn't Extreme spelt with 'X'

are you considering putting a big spoiler on that, some chrome hubs perhaps, and some nice neon lights under it?

No, but number 2 son (17), currently taking lessons, is considering it.

If he wants to pay for it he can do what he wants.

Sorry, but I knew that; even the year... :D

Got a speeding ticket on it, too; couldn't believe it, either-the copper wheeled up right behind me, lights out, after dark, then let everything go at once-fuckin' near blew me off the road.

Unlike my uncouth American counterpart, Busyman, I'll go so far as to say that, while the bike is of a somewhat indeterminate aesthetic value, I'm quite sure it will look splendid with you aboard, Sara. :)

Happy mileage-making, and if that man gets jealous, toss him the keys and tell him to fetch some milk for the children, double-quick. ;)

I am not unclothed. I wear clothing sometimes. :snooty:

Sara does look foxy and will look good on the bike. However, it doesn't change the CaptainObvious fact that she should enter dirt bike races on the thing.

Irregardless to it's aesthetics, it is not indetermiditabibale. It be oogly and it's image on this board is against board rules.

Land Rover Discovery 4L V8i. She's a feckin' beast.

We try for 12 mpg, but don't always manage it, hey-ho, what you gonna do.

You can't squeeze better than 12mpg out of 4 litres?

Ludicrous.

Hell, we have to use something on the order of 6 litres with full-time 4WD to do that poorly...

Nah, just kiddin' with you, bit of hyperbole old bean.

The 4wd is always on, but the real figures are more like 16 urban and 18 elsewhere. Can get a bit more on long motorway drives.

Anyhoo the wee one averages over 40mpg, which is nice. I've got a similar one just now and like it a lot. Just getting a new, better model. There are good deals just now coz' they are bringing out a newer shape.
