As you can see my mobo is agp 8x :( and the processor is 754 socket. Im planning on getting the 6800gt to replace my aging radeon 9600xt.. Im wondering, is it still a good time to have a 6800.. if so how long will it last...

EDIT:
Same questing about the 6600GT also.. seeing that the 6800gt is still $300+ i may have to reconsider.

Is there something you cannot do with your current card?

There is a demo for a game named FEAR. I played it on my pc at a low setting and it was quite laggy, this has led me to think that my Video card could be really out of date sooner or later. How long do you think i can go with my 9600xt before it becomes nearly obsolete...? Im willing to wait up to a year before getting a new video card..

I ask because a lot of thing happen with computers in a year.

Who knows, maybe you'll have a new motherboard, CPU and a PCI Express card in a year's time.
