After months of speculation about the actors behind the masks of the Spider-Man 3 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413300/) bad guys - and the characters they'll play, Dunst, who is back to play Spider-Man's love interest Mary Jane, has let slip in an interview the identities of both the actors and their evil alter-egos. Speaking to website Zap2it.com, she says, "We have really great people as the villains in this film - Thomas Haden Church (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002006/) and Topher Grace (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0333410/) - Venom and Sandman... Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that." Dunst then reversed her claim, admitting Church will play Sandman and Grace, Venom.

No. Sandman is wayyyyyyyy older.

Sandman was one of spideys original enemies,along with Green Goblin and Doc Oc,Venom came onto the scene after Spidey realised the symbiote suit he was using was trying to take him over,FF helped him get rid of it.
He has shitloads of enemies,so Hollywood mixing up the timelines won't hurt much,just wondering how they're gonna explain the symbiote hating spidey so much.

Hollywood also fucks magic up for a quick fix. Why and the hell would you put both Venom and Sandman in the same movie unless.....Venom will be near the end setting up for the next movie.

I didn't know about the six Spiderman movies so when I said "fucking up the longevity" I meant that if Hollywood played it's cards right, quality Spiderman movies could be made at least up to let's say, 10.

Eddie Brock is Venom.
Cletus Cassady is Carnage.
I don't know who Scream is.

I understand it's nighttime, there's a storm, and the edge he's on is probably concrete but if the artist wanted to convey a B&W costume it would seem he would use a background with more color. edit: Plus this "black suit" looks exactly like the old one. Where's the big white spider on it? Where's the lack of webs on the suit? Bummer

Furthermore, I'm all for the black costume but if Venom is going to be anywhere in the movie besides the very end, they advancing story too fast and fucking up the longevity of the series. (Although I don't know how long Sony's rights to Spidey are). edit: I see my own post...6 movies.:lookaroun

I wish they would update the music from the cartoon but that's probably just nostalgia talking.:D

Sony Pictures is the most succesful studio in Hollywood. If it didn't have the Spiderman franchise it would be the least succesful studio. IN other words, this one franchise is the make or break for the whole studio.

Personally i think he looks a bit shit. The picture is really bad quality, and looks like a bad photoshop attempt, plus it looks like he gets the spidey suit, or at least a variation of it. What the hell is up with that?
