i think it works through 6 speakers. front, rear and sub in each earpiece. with center coming out of both front or something

5.1, but the rear sattilites don't play much sound most of the time...Only on DVD movies. I wish there was some software that could spread 2 channle sound onto all 5 speakers.

5.1 on a 7.1 soundcard.
Don't see the point of 7.1 cards though.

you can make a sig with all your uber computer specs in it, and if you put 7.1 card in bold your e-peen would look huge

I'm not an e-wanker, thank you very much. :snooty:

edit: my e-peen suddenly got smaller, the card just died on me, now I have to wait up to ten days that the german feckers who built it respond to my e-mail! :frusty:

7.1 Bose connected through the stereo amp.
this is on a media pc i made myself, wich is placed in the living room for entertainement purposes`

if you have the space too settle the speakers the right way you will notice the 7.1 advantage, if not stick to 5.1...

My sad feature........ 5.1 will be my feature cause my wife doesn't like the looks of speakers in the middle of the room.... and wifes rules are THE house rules  :pinch:

Are we talkin' stereo or 'putor speakers? Most people run their PC sound thro' their stereo speakers.

At least most people I know seem to do that.

I suppose I would, except that it would preclude someone who wasn't using the PC from enjoying the stereo at the same time.

I could augment my computor hardware with other gear that I have, but then there wouldn't be any room in here for me...which would probably suit you just fine, huh, manker? :D

Then given the amount of time you spend here, I expect we will hear anon that you have slaughtered them en masse; either that or none of them are PC-literate... :P

Cerwin-Vega W-15s and DX-9s for mains, Cerwin-Vega HT-15 sub, and Klipsch BX-1 sats.

150w X 7.1, though the sub is self-powered.

5-15" woofers altogether.

It's pretty loud...the Missus wants me to go buy a complete Klipsch system for a smaller footprint.

I'm thinking about it... :D

Well, 90% of the time I post, I'm in work but while at home it isn't a great problem to get time alone at the PC since one family member is 18 months old and the only other (teh missus) is usually in the kitchen, looking admiringly at her shiny bin.

I misspelled the brand. It's an Onkyo system. It's my primary sound system.
For my computer I have a 5.1 Creative Lab system.
